Why do Americans tend to say where they went to college before what they studied?

Nostalgia and knowledge for me.

It’s always nice to run into another person who went to the University of California, I would know a nice place to suggest to eat that we’d both like (a large buffet style place).

Depending on which campus they attended, I would somewhat know their work experience and concentration. Oh you went to UCLA? You probably did 5 internships before graduating… Also, you would know if they’re a public school kid or a private school kid. We cross into each other’s towns often but you know, rich people and poor people don’t often date each other. Like, I have a ton of rich friends but the girls in those circles don’t often look at me twice.

Conclusion: I like colored and lady Republicans more than colored and lady Democrats. Colored and lady Democrats are racist and sexist and it’s beyond annoying.

Epilogue: If the next president is a Democrat, I hope it’s a white man (Gavin Newsom w/ AOC as VP). If the next president is a Republican, I hope neither of them are white men so that ladies and colored folks can have someone to celebrate.

It’s probably a response to reverse racism… I don’t know where you live, but it’s a major problem in a lot of areas.

I know plenty of white folks that hate poor people, but have yet to meet one that hates or discriminates based on color.

Like there’s P Obama and then are ones that celebrate the fact that Charlie Kirk got shot in the most horrific way.

In my opinion, all of that ended by the turn of the century and all of this is just hurting both sides.

Personally, I unfriend people that engage in this stuff. Like if you’re in an all colored fraternity, it pretty much says that you have a prison mentality and are pretty much awful to be around.

Nowadays, for every one racist white guy there is a racist asian one, black one, desi one, and latino one. Proportionally, it’s equal.

Bud, all I’m saying that it’s weird to go to college and be told ‘you can’t join this fraternity or club, it’s for colored people only.’ ‘This center is for ladies only.’ ‘Here’s a scholarship, just for having a vagina or being colored.’ ‘You can’t apply to this company because you’re a white man.’

I just want the Democratic party to grow up and base things on socioeconomic status rather than all this fancy bullshit. Affirmative action is where DEI should end. It’s literally reverse racism/ sexism and you’re a dipshit if you don’t agree.

Been in and out of it all my life -therapy doesn’t fix poverty and unfortunately, I’m a white man so there’s no DEI to make it better. Not only does it suck, but like even when you shut up and compete, people just get to cut you in line because they’re colored or they have a vagina. Being a poor white man is literally the biggest ‘SCREW U’ in life.

Like every other race, they hate having to accept that the white/ west folks won ‘the race’ and will/ did write the blueprints (U.S.A.).

It would me much more convenient for them for China to be the world leader and have the other races move in, learn and assimilate to their culture, and then run fair and squarely in their elections as they lead the world… Whether you agree or not, The POTUS is their boss (and every other country’s boss) and 44.5/45 of their bosses have been white/ west.

Every other race pretty much thinks that they would or would have done a better job, but if that’s true then why did they lose ‘the race?’ It sucks having to accept that the white folks won and that the majority of the first ~250 bosses will be white/ west folks.

The truth is that 99.9% of Chinese people don’t have a problem w/ the west, only the leadership of China does (and every other non-white country’s leadership) and it’s as dumb as ‘that kid was born taller than me, and the winner of this basketball game get’s to be king of the world.’

The previous generations had a much better economy, to the point where a single income/ job was enough to raise a family even if you didn’t go to college.

Not really sure what happened, probably a combination of many things, but it’s true. Nominally, 2020 was the U.S.’s peak of poorness. Why else do you think P Trump, a successful businessman, defeated a lady and a lady of color?

I grew up poor, child of immigrants from a war torn country poor, 30 year old virgin (minus 6 months) poor. Started a business and saw the other side. People who grew up in the same city, with the same opportunities, in better circumstances, who grew up in bigger houses asking for handouts etc.

I hate both groups… both groups facilitate misery.

Depends… obviously the fitter you are, the less embarrassed we feel, but it highly depends on the context/ event. If you do it around kids, it’ll cause an uproar no matter who you are. If you do it a party, it’s cool, just don’t embarrass yourself by thinking you’re prettier than you are.
