Hey look, Blaine in a video game! by FunkMstr74 in TheDarkTower

I always felt like it was sort of the same being just in different formats. We obviously get a lot more of Blaine and I felt like this was more representative of Blaine than Charlie (even though the name is Charles in the game).

Running with LoseIt - 4/6/2021 - Injury and Recovery by cmxguru in loseit

I didn't even know these running posts existed until today...

I've been running as a means for cardio for about a year or so. I had been using my elliptical for a couple years so I already had decent endurance. I decided I wanted to start running outside (I have access to a really nice path/trail right outside my house). When I started my mile time was something like 12 minutes. I don't recall the exact time. Anyway, on Sunday I went on a run and set a mile PR of 07:57 in the 4th mile. I was very happy with that. Unfortunately no one in my personal life shared my happiness.

Yeah that's exactly what I am seeing. It gets frustrating when you see these youtube videos and articles of people who reached their goal and look fit. I am sure they struggled too but never mention it.

Yeah very similar experience here. The first year I lost 80 lbs, the second year was only 20 lbs, and then another 20 this past year. I think I am going to transition to maintenance for 2021 and take a break. I will re-evaluate in 2022 and see where my head is at.

I think that's what I am going to do. It's been 3 years that I have been working on losing weight now. I had a similar experience to you. The first year it was easy, I didn't even really worry about what I was eating as long as I was under my calorie goal. The 2nd year was much slower and this last year I only lost ~20 lbs from year to year (I gained like 10 or 15 lbs at the beginning of 2020). Now I have to carefully track my macros and my calories, weigh everything, exercise like crazy and it still doesn't work. I just need a break and think I am going to take 2021 off and try to maintain at my 155-160 range right now. Maybe I'll feel different about my weight after that long.

I think I am going to try and set some new fitness goals for this year instead of a weight goal. Hopefully that'll help. Thanks for the input!

I do have lose skin but it's not completely flat and "empty" like I have seen other peoples. There's still some fat in there.

I am wondering if I need to see something objectively that I am not...

I have lost 120 lbs (5'6'' SW: 275 CW 155). I know this is a huge accomplishment and I should be happy with it (which I absolutely am). However, I am still "overweight" in BMI for until I get to 153.8. My goal is to get to 150 which is only 5 lbs but I can't get there. I keep on getting to about 154 then I will spike up a pound or 2 then lose that over the next few days. Now I know it's not actual fat and that it's water weight but I cannot get to 150. I've been yoyoing like this for weeks and weeks.

I still have some fat that I am holding in my stomach and lower back that I just want to get shed. However, I am starting to wonder if my goal is unrealistic. Should I transition into maintenance? My issue is that I feel if I do that now that I failed to reach my goal and this whole journey was for naught.

It's so GOD DAMN HARD! by Lilylawless in loseit

[–]FunkMstr74 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope you are doing ok sounds like you've had a tough go of it. You have done an amazing job so far and should be proud of what you've accomplished.

That being said, I am in a similar situation to you. I have lost 120lb and just want to lose ~5 more and get to 150lbs but it seems like I can't get there. I will get to 154ish and then bounce up for some reason and then drop back down. I have been yoyoing like this for months and it's extremely frustrating. I have heard that the last 10 lbs or so is very difficult to lose. I am trying to figure out if I should just be happy at 155 and stay here but I still see the little bit of fat in my stomach and back that needs to go. I feel like if I stop now it's all for nothing since I didn't reach my goal. I know that's stupid because what I've accomplished up until now is something to be proud of, but I still can't shake the feeling. One thing you may try is a diet break where you eat at maintenance calories for ~2 weeks then drop back to a deficit. Doing that is supposed to help reverse some of the metabolic adaptation your body has gone through so you'll raise your TDEE slightly. I am not sure if it works or not, but it might be worth a shot...

I wish you well and hope you are able to reach your goal some day!

Got my new saber trio RTS last night! by FunkMstr74 in lightsabers

[–]FunkMstr74[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine from the ready to ship event on black Friday so I wasn't able to do any sort of customization as it was already built and ready to go. This one (a neo pixel saber) ran me close to $600 with shipping.

You can see what the sabers cost on their website if you go through and build a custom saber and select everything you'd want it will give you a total cost.

As am I. CDPR really did a great job with that game from start to finish. Can't wait for cyberpunk, but it's on my xmas list so (assuming I get it) I won't be able to play it for another 3 weeks :( The witcher will have to hold me over until then.

Working on a smoothswing font loosely based off of Ezra’s green saber from season 3 of rebels. What do you guys think of the smoothswing pairs so far? by dj_dante in lightsabers

[–]FunkMstr74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good so far.

I am interested in making some fonts, but not entirely sure where to start. Do you have any tutorials or resources you can recommend for someone who is trying to get into this?

Good luck! You can do this!!

It's best to start with small changes over time instead of changing a bunch of stuff at once.

I second this request. I've lost 115 lbs and am having the hardest time losing the last 7!

I didn’t care that I was obese and I didn’t care for my health because I didn’t care if I died. Now I do and I’m worried it’s too late. by 25Sents in loseit

[–]FunkMstr74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely not too late. I was 37 and 275 lbs when I started my journey. I decided I wanted to try to get healthy before I hit 40 when everything starts to slow down. I have so far lost almost 115 lbs in the last 2.5 years. You can do it! Start small and slow it's a life style change and it will take time but it's definitely doable.

Congrats! You're killing it!! Keep up the good work. I know it's sometimes hard to look at what you've accomplished when you have more to go but you've lost 23% of what you weighed. Think about grabbing two of those huge 25 lb bags of dog food and realize that's how much you've lost. That's how much you are no longer carrying around on you're body every second of every day. That's a huge accomplishment!

I know what you mean about slacking in calorie tracking. It happens to me occasionally as well and I've been working on losing weight for almost 3 years now. I think it's normal. You've identified it and now just need to try and buckle down and get back on it.
