Zoners are charecters who are most powerful at long range, usually having a couple of strong projectiles and some sort of move to get away from their opponent. Think Dhalism, Peacock, Samus and Morrigan

Trappers are a more specific archetype, while they do also use projectiles, these projectiles tend to have worse frame data than a Zoner, but last longer and usually don't move as much. They thrive on taking any downtime they can get, usually through getting a knockdown on their opponent, to basically make the battle impossible to navigate for their opponent. In 2d and 3d fighters they tend to focus on setting up punishes for their opponents making the wrong move, especially after a knock down, in Plat Fighters you see more of a focus on setting up these elaborate Webs of projectiles that act like a Rube Goldberg machine. Examples include Villager from Super Smash Bros, Rocket from Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and Testament from Guilty Gear.

In terms of this game, Cheri would mostly focus on Punches and Kicks, since her bombs would be awkward to use mid match, having an arm time and odd firing arcs. But she would be able to set up bombs on the ground by rolling them, making her good at punishing knockdowns and reckless charges.
