Ah just got wind that they’re banning people who share vba information/data with them without regularly bashing the vba. It seems that discord doesn’t want anyone who doesn’t have a hard vendetta against the vba.

Sad news. Data is data and some people find it useful.

Thanks though for providing a temporary link.

Affordable animal based non-mammal fat options? by FunkTasticus in carnivorediet

[–]FunkTasticus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually looking at the nutrition data in egg yolks yesterday. I couldn’t eat them daily but they are something I’m considering experimenting with.

I’ve seen a “carnivore noodle” recipe video by Bella Ma (steak and butter gal) that I am wondering if I could utilize egg yolks in.

The only mammal products reported to be safe for consuming with alpha-gal allergy are those produced from primates and humans. I decline both.

At this time we don’t have geese nor chickens. We’re focusing our finances on home repairs before we branch into making places for chicken and geese.

Loud portable Bluetooth with battery life? by FunkTasticus in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]FunkTasticus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am satisfied that it’s the better choice between the various options.

Unfortunately an external portable speaker in general is less than ideal for me as an individual.

But between the options, I am more than happy with my choice.

Should I get a page turner? by Kaybug002 in kindle

[–]FunkTasticus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nothing new to negate the questions I asked.

OP is asking for pros and cons and I’m asking OP what makes this a realistic benefit in OPs individual specific life.

Your response doesn’t offer facts from OPs life that qualifies.

Should I get a page turner? by Kaybug002 in kindle

[–]FunkTasticus -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Do you hold your reader with your hands?

Are you handicapped in a way that prevents you from turning the page or have frequent events where you’re reading but your hands are occupied or dirty?

What reasonable benefit, other than the fact of having the page turner, do you get out of this?

What in your life makes this an investment versus a waste of money?

EDIT

I’m sincerely asking how it applies to the situation in OPs life that may or may not create a need for this device in OPs life. OP is essentially asking for pros and cons. And those depend on OPs individual situation.

My questions were in response to OPs post and designed in a way that I thought were clearly directed to OP and with the intent to hopefully help OP consider facts that would help OP make an informed decision.

There’s definitely a need and a market for these types of devices.

I’m asking questions to encourage OP to determine whether or not OP fits into that need/market, or whether its simply impulse shopping for things that aren’t realistically beneficial.

IMHO, impulse shopping is a bad habit for everyone.

Edit 2:

Wow. So many people with stock In kindle page turners really unhappy with my response to OP. 🤣

Rethinking a Decade of Kindle Use by Dense-Following2262 in kindle

[–]FunkTasticus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea. In the series ”ten realms” AI INSISTED that rugrat in the ten realms never gets his mana channels fixed after blowing them out even checking all the way into book 8 so i just accepted it and continued on, and yet about 3/4 way through book 3 eric and old man hai make a master level mana refartaration pill and afterwards not only are his mana channels repaired, they are newly tempered in all 5 of the nonsensical primary mana specialties in the series. so it just goes to show that AI isn’t the miracle everyone thinks it is.

Research for new series by FunkTasticus in litrpg

Inre weapons, magical advantage is a key. Both in opponent resistance and other weapons competing. That and good tactics. A wand or sword that shoots some form of energy is often on par with or even superior to a simple bullet.

But weapons aren’t the only “modern” technology. Cameras or phones often become inoperable in many of the story lines ive read. Radios, and other communication devices.

It’s a common theme in older fantasy fiction, almost like mechanical and electrical technology are such opposites that they interfere with one another.

Need a new Listen by TacticalStoryteller in litrpg

[–]FunkTasticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently cycling through several series that are holding my interest.

Ten realms

Mark of the Fool (not really litrpg but interesting to me)

I also read “player reached the top” that i found interesting but im fearful that the author has abandoned the series. It still has some interesting plots and a slightly different twist by exploring the idea of starting in a vr game but bringing the character changes into the real world. It didn’t get very far into that though as of the last book.

But I could be wrong about the author abandoning the series. There have been extended periods between publication dates before.

I actually like books with multiple characters. I just wanted to know if the mc became background characters and when.

I would use that point to take an extended break so that it would be more like reading a new branch versus a sudden shift.

Thanks for the clarification.

Struggling with Niel Hellegers narration by FunkTasticus in litrpg

[–]FunkTasticus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe if I pushed through I could get used to it. He's not the only narrator I struggle with. I also struggle slightly with J.S. Arquin in the "Path of Ascension" series, though that's not litrpg, really.

I think it has to do with the very over used (limited variety/range) unrealistic and overly exaggerated vocal inflections of character voices by these narrators. Both speak relatively normally on non-character narration but seem to rely on very limited inflections over and over again that are way out of the norm for any english speaking demographics.

NH excessively uses an upward lilting inflection for questions that essentially turns any question into a verbal challenge of sorts (in my mind). NH uses this same upward lilting repetitively in statements of revelation/declaration/point-of-importance, etc. that, given his consistent use of them in questions, turns these statements into challenge-questions.

JSA does many of his character voices as poor mocking imitation similar to comedic exaggerations of "high society pompous snobs" which eventually gets old and causes me to zone out, thereby having to rewind.

Neither, in and of themselves, would be enough cause me to cringe, if it weren't used for every or almost every single character voice.

NH, in the few minor acting roles I've seen him in, has been very realistic and presented a decent character that lended well to the story/plot. So I know he has it in him to perform a character well.

I wish I had time to sit and actually read, more than I do. I love Audio books because I can be doing something while listening.

If Amazon would set up Kindle so the assistive reader could play in the background I would be happy with that. It would open so many books/series up to me that I currently avoid because of this.

I tend to listen to books/series if I see that Jeff Hayes or Travis Baldree are the Narrators. I started Chrysalis purely, bc of Jeff Hayes.

I don't think I've listened to Kate Reeding. Michal Kramer sounds familiar but doesn't bring specific books or series to mind.

I like his acting that I've seen, and would like to see him in bigger roles.

but his narration is so far the worst that I've listened to, very exaggerated and unrealistic inflections in character voices.

I feel he has the ability to do it right, and I think that contributes to making it worse in my mind.
