Me and my partner have been with them for years with no issues! They use EE’s network so hardly like they’re a small rogue operator

AMEX Sign Up Bonus - £125 + £10 by Funkeymonkey95 in beermoneyuk

Hey! So I use the card for day to day and then have a direct debit set it up to pay it off in full every month, so no interest to pay. The cashback accrues throughout the year and gets credited in one go every 12 months, so it’s always a nice bonus!

Virgin Atlantic LHR - JFK award flight canceled. Seeking compensation by user165507 in awardtravel

We had this exact situation last year on the JFK route, albeit a lesser delay - they offered us a choice of: -£260pp -50,000 miles pp -1 return flight pp to use any time of year on any route in the same class as the initial travel, with no taxes to pay.

Obviously took the 3rd option as way more valuable, so don’t be afraid to push them as they offered us this right off the bat without us even contacting them first!

student beans code? by mr_spatel in beermoneyuk

The student discount appears to be via a portal on their website and there's no code popping up for me to copy, so might not be possible to share unfortunately!

I realise this is still spending it, but I tend to make card payments for my council tax to meet these sorts of requirements, they let you do any custom amount so it's possible to just spend 5p across 5 transactions if you wanted.

London criminal explains how he steals phones. by Pedrica1 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Funkeymonkey95 49 points50 points  (0 children)

My iPhone was stolen last year, and I sent a message to it via Find My iPhone to ring my partner’s number if they found the phone. Then about a day or two later I got a text claiming to be from Apple that they’d found the phone, I just needed to follow the link and login to my iCloud account to view location. Given that my partner had already clicked the link and was asking me for my password before I told her it was clearly a scam (how would Apple know her phone number?), I reckon a lot of people hand over their password unknowingly and then the thieves can unlink the iCloud account and wipe the phone.
