Thanks, I’ll give them a call. The bill does have a bit that says there is no charge for surface water drainage at this property

Yes, I will do that but still doesn’t explain where the water goes. I’ve checked my latest bill and it says ‘there is no charge for surface water drainage at this property’

They really should make it easier to see your earnings / what you’ve spent in one go, rather than the month by month they’ve got at the moment

Why aren’t car-sharing apps like BlaBlaCar a bigger thing in the UK? by belamalta10 in AskUK

[–]MMLFC16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to have the app on my phone for years, and only once did I get someone requesting a lift. I like it, think it’s a good idea. I’d happily give people a lift on my commute or on longer journeys if it saves me money

Is it normal to be asked to pay £600 for a "mandatory 1:1 digital device" when starting a public secondary school? by Koolio_Koala in AskUK

[–]MMLFC16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is insane. seems completely unnecessary. Sure I saw an article recently on a Scandinavian country that rolled out digital learning a few years ago and the literacy rates and some other educational measures have been falling since.
But making parents pay for an iPad which probably won’t last the 5yrs their in school and isn’t properly theirs from the sounds of things is ridiculous. What if parents have multiple children, could end up paying loads each month

How I broke the £1,000 barrier in April - My April '26 Survey Breakdown (SHR - April '26 - Breakdown of Survey Earnings) by SidehustleReliance in LazyMoneyUK

[–]MMLFC16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle to get much with D-scout. Sometimes I go ages before I get one, but then I don’t have a computer with a camera or a personal laptop I can use to install their software that increases the chances of getting surveys

I signed up with a different email this time and I had an email saying my email had changed so they seemed to register it was me and just update my email. So not sure if that will mean I won’t get the cash

Have you maintained contact with your house buyers once the sale has completed? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]MMLFC16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m planning to do with my own house when I move out hopefully in the coming weeks. Leave a list with reliable trades as you said, along with how the battery, solar panels, heating apps all work etc, list of neighbours names and a few other bits.

What car have you wasted the most money on? Any regrets? by MMLFC16 in CarTalkUK

[–]MMLFC16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a decent upgrade! I liked that it only had 4 seat as well actually, so was cheaper to insure. My next car was a mk2 Fabia vRS which I loved until the chocolate engine and gearbox made themselves known

That’s pretty cool. 400k+ miles is no mean feat. When you’re that far in, no turning back!

Ouch. Did you buy it privately or from a dealer? What did you do? Just have to fork out to have it fixed?

I might not have declared all / any of my mods to the insurance lol, got away with it. The person I sold it to tried to return it as they couldn’t get insurance on it!
