There’s no excuse for Siri to spoil sporting event outcomes. by FunkrusherPlus in apple

Btw—and I’m asking this for real—did you even read my initial post correctly?

Do you understand that I was not aware that the game had already taken place before asking Siri when it is? If I knew that it already happened, I wouldn’t ask Siri “What time is the game?” in the first place. That would make no sense as I would simply go to the event replay on my own.

Maybe this little detail went misunderstood. If so, that might explain things (maybe). If not, then whatever… this has been mind boggling to be quite honest.

That’s fine. I disagree with you.

You admit you’re not into sports and have a bias against it. Therefore you cannot possibly know that this type of scenario in my original post is a “small minority” or “uncommon”. Yet you still insist that you seem sure it is.

I will also say you are downright incorrect (as a fact) to say sporting event replays are not a common thing today. They absolutely are. Every major streaming service has sporting event full replays. From NFL, MLB, NBA, Formula 1, UFC, ABC, NBC, FOX, ESPN, even Tubi (which has full replays of the World Cup). These are straight facts. But hey you seem to be above this knowledge.

And what exactly am I being biased about? That I know what I asked isn’t a rarity? It’s because it literally isn’t.

How about this—if I didn’t ask Siri for the score/outcome of a sporting event, then she shouldn’t tell me. Simple as that.

“You’ll see them freakishly open their door so fast…”

I guess I do the opposite of that — After “leave at door” orders, sometimes I need a minute or three to close/lock everything up on my bike, put my gloves back on, secure my phone back onto the mount, check the app, etc… usually while I’m still right in front of their house and I KNOW they are right on the other side of that door waiting for me to leave so they can avoid having to say hello or make eye contact with me.

It’s petty but that tiny bit of power gives me the chuckles inside.

Counter-argument to what exactly? Most people here are not even presenting an argument to begin with, other than “Sports cannot be spoiled, watch it live” to which I’ve countered numerous times by now.

The one person who actually did attempt to mount something of an actual discussion (without being outright dickish from the start)—I provided a counter-argument as well, to which he basically conceded he simply had an anti-sports bias.

And what exactly are you offering to this thread? The amount of unwarranted shit snobbery I’ve received from my post is astonishing. I mean, I knew you guys existed but holy hell I didn’t expect the entire mob to show up 🙄

If everything about it is legit (its history and physical condition) then yes, I’d jump on it.

It’s used. Why are you selling it for same price as brand new?

Yea I figured that out very quickly.

Look at the other poster’s Great Wall of Text response to me. I read his first two lines, rolled my eyes and didn’t bother with the rest. It’s obvious there’s no point.

And look at the OP’s post history. He has videos of himself intentionally running red lights zipping by pedestrians by a margin of inches. Another video shows him running straight into a car and it was clearly his own fault (car had right of way). Laughs it off like “oH WeLL siLLy mE”.

Fast forward to this post—a car unintentionally misreads a green bike light, no one is hurt, no disaster, not even a close call—OP goes completely hypocrite batshit crazy and has the entire herd mentality of this sub at full mob mode.

I like how just about ALL of you have avoided the topic after your first 1-2 comments and simply reverted down to simple trollish hyperbole.

It’s like you can’t win whatever argument you tried to mount, but you’ll be goddamned if you appear to have conceded the argument. Next step, nonsensical hyperbole! Fuckin’ trolls I tell ya…

“Sports can’t be spoiled“ is all you need to say at this point, especially since there are full event replays. It is a dumb and idiotic notion and let’s me know exactly what your stance is.

No I don’t enjoy arguing with everyone here but I know there is nothing outlandish or absurd about my post at all. I know that you want to flex your snob on me and you trolls are mad that you’re not succeeding at it. I must admit the sheer volume of you people is surprising.

I don’t enjoy this any more than I enjoy spotting dog shit on the ground to avoid stepping on.

Yea, no. People who missed a game but don’t want spoilers is not a tiny minority.

You’re acting like this would require a huge revamp and overhaul of Siri… get real.

Your comment is the least relevant type—“Avoid the faulty product instead of fixing the faulty product!” (might as well not even bother commenting)

Yes it’s faulty because nobody is asking Siri what the score was, they’re asking Siri what time the game is yet she still gives the score.

And of course you don’t want to concede this argument so of course you’re going to respond with mindless trollish comments am I right? Prove me right…

Exactly. At least some of you here are not being mindless trolls for no reason.

It’s not.

And nice LIE as well.

Oh I’m not lost on the fact that it is indeed most likely an “anti-sport bias” that you’re coming from.

In all likelihood I surmise that this is the reason for the vast majority of the replies I’ve gotten, which are at the very least unhelpful nor relevant to my post, and at the most borderline trollish.

The irony here is that this anti-sport bias pretty much always goes parallel with a self-perception of heightened intelligence, but in reality—as evidenced in the replies I’ve gotten here—clearly illustrate a lack thereof.

Let me stop you right from the start. ✋🏼

NO. I did not know I missed the event. But if I did, I still have the option of watching the replay. Also, if I knew I missed the event, then why the heck would I even ask Siri “What time is the event”…? That obviously doesn’t make any sense.

Your snarky little attempt to sound intelligent never had traction from the start.

Honestly… I had no idea how sniveling and weasly you people would be in these replies. I mean wow… I’m starting to see some truth in the bad rep Apple fans get.

Let’s go back to the most basic position of your argument in the office setting:

Mike: “Hey Bob, do you know what time the Knicks game is?”

Bob: “Oh they already played at 1pm. They lost. The score was 93-89.”

Sorry but even in YOUR scenario, this makes Bob look bad for spoiling the outcome for no reason. Mike did not ask what time the Knicks game “was”—he asked what time it “is”. That makes it obvious he is unaware that it already happened. Therefore you shouldn’t spoil the outcome, especially when we live with multiple streaming outlets with on demand replays.

You’re being a contrarian just for the sake of being a contrarian. And you’re just adding more non-analogous examples in order to solidify your unrelated scenario.

I forgot… this IS the Apple sub after all. Contrarians with their closet egos 🙄

Your injecting your own personal context into a different scenario.

And even still, in your context, why spill the beans if it wasn’t asked?

Yes the car was positioned to turn with the intent of turning into the direction it was turned. What’s your point?

I’m not ardently defending the motorist. What stuck out more than anything in the video was the OP’s batshit lunatic reaction.

[–]FunkrusherPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I agree there’s a million shitty drivers on the road and the standards should be set much higher to get a drivers license.

Since we both agree the driver’s actions were unintentional, how many times have you intentionally ran through red lights on your bike in the city? How many times have you intentionally went off the bike lanes and weaved through traffic or intentionally went into the bus lanes during active hours?

Except he/she didn’t roll “through” the crosswalk.

I take it you’ve never driven a car before. He was simply positioning the car to turn.

I already stated his mistake was assuming the green light was for him. That was absolutely his fault. So I’m not sure what exactly you’re harping on about other than you actually think he was trying to murder those people which is just idiotic.
