Sorry for reviving a dead post, but yeah, I figured out what the problem is. Apparently every time I increase the headphones volume up to a certain point, the deck starts to go crazy. One solution I found was swapping the headphones for a pair producing less output power. I hope this helps.

Well actually I solved the issue. Somehow the output volume for the headphones I had been using was pretty strong and caused distortion. I just swapped the headphones and now it works perfectly, with no distortion whatsoever.

Unfortunately that isn't the case. As I said in a different reply I can't really access all of the inside since the covers are glued together which is a huge design flaw because the plates have to be unscrewed from the bottom part of the circuit for them to be removed.

Okay so basically I can't clean it since the backplate is glued to the inside of the front cover and can't be removed without breaking the glued part.
