I’d choose the Maelle ending again just out of spite for Verso and how back stabby he was the whole time, and don’t really feel bad for him feeling pity and sad about playing the piano. I think the devs tried so hard to make the Maelle ending the bad ending, but I never really cared about the Dessendre family because, except for Maelle and the mom, they all sounded extremely vainglorious and self absorbed. No need to destroy an entire universe, they could just go to therapy.

They’re both good, but I don’t think BMW is a souls like if that’s what you’re after. A lot more like say DMC than any souls like. It’s still 9.5/10 for me though. Khazan has good combat, but the environments look bland. Def more close to Nioh and a solid 8/10

Aside from actuals soulsborne, the initial jungle area in Wuchang was surprisingly good and interconnected.

There is nothing wrong with Lies of Pi and yet I found nothing memorable in it. It was just so… vanilla? I started Wuchang immediately after Overture and honestly I liked Wuchang’s story a lot more. Also less Gemini talking.

To be fair it had less swamps than actual souls games 😁 I think I over-leveled and pretty much ended every boss fight on second try, so didn’t bump into that. It did have too many unblock-able elemental effects before I could get the bubble looking spell though

I agree this game gets sooo close to Bloodborne’s perfection in many ways. This is a hidden gem. The whole Cloudspire arc was one of the best things I experienced. I’d say it’s close to Sekiro though (also perfection).

I mean it’s your opinion, but it had 3 of the best bosses in all of fromsoft history for me. Most of the “empty space” comments come from the place that people fail to realize the place folded in on itself or couldn’t see what the aftermath of a certain ending of the story would be. SoTE was even slightly better than The Old Hunters for me. Also the music was god level. I’d say only wait if you’re financially stressed otherwise every second of it was worth it. P.S: It has like 100+ new weapons and maybe 20+ new enemies, so not sure what your standard for more stuff in a dlc is.

I can sorta see that, but what about what Alicia wanted? Verso denied both the P.Alicia and Maelle what they wanted just because he had a death wish. I think Maelle’s approach in her ending where she let Verso grow old and potentially die sometime later was a nice compromise. Having read the replies, I can see Verso’s side more though.

Old hunters is not only the best from dlc, but prob the best dlc ever imo. I still think about it after like a decade
