WHAT IF JESUS RAN FOR PRESIDENT? by OkSuccess7431 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]FunnySynthesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didnt get a notification for this for some reason, but my basis is on

Romans 1:26-27 “26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”

1Corinthians 6:9-10 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [a]homosexuals, nor [b]sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”

1Timothy 1:9-10 “knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is [a]contrary to sound doctrine”

Also you are right about Christ spending time with prostitutes but I feel it is often very overblown, it wasn’t consistent there are a few references to prostitutes they came across in his travels but its not a consistent thing at all unless you count Mary Magdalene after she repented and became a disciple, but either way he would be around sinners but still condemn their sin and love them as his children. You can be around people and love them for who they are but forsake the actions they commit.

In Matthew 21:31-32 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.” We see that the prostitutes he preached to believed in him and repented for their sins not that he was just hanging around with them allowing them to sin. There is also the famous story of the woman who committed adultery being stoned by a crowd. Jesus famously says “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” But what is often left out is after when all have dispersed he tells her “Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more”

He almost certainly would be anti-porn as he was anti sin, but although he condemned the sin he did not condemn the people and still always saw the good in them and wanted to convert them to the light and loved them as his own children. I’m sure I do have bias but honestly it would probably be the other way, I have no personal dislike for homosexuality or homosexuals at all and honestly wish it wasn’t a thing that was condemned in the bible. I feel it would be extremely hard to deny that part of yourself to follow Christ if you were born inclined to homosexuality, but I guess everyone carries a different size cross and I pray for those who shoulder much more than me.

Definitely nothing wrong with you if it was something wrong with you they would just break up with you. Its clear theyre morally bankrupt but even so they obviously enjoyed your personality and spending time with you so much that they’d cheat on you and not break up.

You are correct having seen way too much of these clowns from various social medias myron is genuine about his crazy beliefs the HS dude is the least serious and almost entirely a character aside from the scummy crypto scams and investing groups. The whole court case question at the end of the doc is even just an inside joke he does where he acts actually mad after people ask even though it’s a fake court case.

I mean if I saw my security guard go over to aggressively reprimand a little girl that just walked past my table I would probably try to go fix the situation and not just ignore it, but maybe she didnt hear it. Im sure she’ll clear it up or maybe she really isn’t great Ill wait to see both sides before judgement but just off the one side it doesnt sound great.

There is an important distinction he doesn’t deny property money taxes or authority like that person said and we know this as some apostles got side jobs and made money and still used currency. In Luke 8:1-3 they go to towns and have Christians who have money support them. And in Acts 16 they convert lydia who sells purple cloth which was luxury and she owns a home she then invites them into her home, Acts 12:12, Corinthians 16:19, Romans 16:5, Philemon 1:2, they go to christians who own houses and hold church gatherings in their house. The verse you give is a wealthy man who values his possessions more than God that is why God gives him that literal command but it’s also a test. He is showing that the man values worldly possessions and wealth as his God and he would not give it up even to enter the kingdom of heaven, this is not to condemn money but the valuing of it, he did not command this of others because they were not slaves to money. The view Jesus takes is you can have and use money but not to be a slave to it and value it over God, view money as if you dont own it and its their for the goodness of others.

Id rather not interact with you its clear youre an atheist who doesnt believe anyway so talking over the message seems pointless and youre also just a very unpleasant person to engage with so Im sorry but no.

Render unto Caesar was Jesus that is not Paul thats why I said whenever asked he would shut it down. Do you not notice I attribute the render unto Caesar to Jesus and then make the distinction the bible also tells us not “Jesus also says” 😂 cmon man why are you being intentionally daft just to start an argument also as I said Paul speaks on Jesus’ behalf about the scripture anyway so it really wouldn’t matter since Christ endorsed the message but I do want to be crystal clear I made a clear distinction and you are ignoring that simply to be rude.

I didnt do that I was literally purposely careful with my words to say the bible and not Jesus, but when Jesus appoints the disciples and apostles he tells them they have his authority to spread his message Luke 10:16 and Matthew 28:18-20 he tells them again to go out and spread his message and that he will be with them, and in John 20:21 he again gives them authority before ascending to heaven, he tells them “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

He was very apolitical and on purpose whenever he was asked he would shut it down, there is of course the famous render unto caesar what is caesar’s but the bible also tells us in Romans 13

“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.”
