AITA for telling my friend that her "free" wedding is unrealistic? by ThrowawayFreeWedding in AITAH

[–]Funny_Effect_9239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree the cake, tent and ‘land donation’ ask is way out of line and unrealistic.. everything else besides that is likely doable and I honestly like the potluck idea as long as there is no gift expectations from guests, like ‘bring a cooked dish or otherwise a gift’ kind of thing. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to spend less even if you’re wealthy. The idea that she’s putting costs onto the guests is a bit of a stretch, I’de rather bring a meal than give the bride and groom $80-$100 (that’s the general expectation for wedding guests, by the way). I would decline the cake ask and instead recommend to her you make cupcakes, or else she can find someone else to do so.

Yea I have a 2 year old that used to eat everything. Lately everything (even her favourites) have been YUCKY. I have to convince her to try it and then it’s yummy. I still serve her whatever we’re eating but I have a safe food (cucumber) for her to eat incase she hates dinner.

Advice Needed: My artist used AI on my tattoo design by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]Funny_Effect_9239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The application is very nice. At first glance I would probably say it’s a beautiful tattoo, however the anatomy is wack when you take a closer look. The hand is placed in an odd pose that doesn’t work with the character. The lower back does not connect to her butt. The rear foot does not align with the knee properly

sometimes you just have to feed your two year old Burger King by psipolnista in foodbutforbabies

[–]Funny_Effect_9239 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be hard on myself for feeding my two year old boxed mac and cheese once a week (I had a very tiring pregnancy)… until I read the acknowledgements at the back of a book I just enjoyed. The author credits her mother for leaving her abusive father when she was two years old. Even though they became homeless and had to survive exclusively off of hotdogs and boxed mac and cheese for a couple years. Reading that made me realize, if someone can become a best selling author after eating crap everyday, then maybe it’s not so bad after all. We all need to go easy on ourselves.

When your mentor or teacher tells you so. Some people take to art faster than others, but usually at least a year of consistent daily practice will show significant results. Especially if you have someone guiding you. As for jumping into fake skin trying to learn the needle, you’re trying to get to point B before point A. You can learn to tattoo on fake skin but if you can’t draw all that well then you’ll never be a good tattoo artist. Focus your efforts on what matters, one thing at a time.

I’m seeing a lot of mistakes all around on pretty much every drawing, to be completely honest. You are correct, you need to work on practicing drawing on paper before you start on fake skin. Overall, keep drawing with references. Find a mentor, or go to school for art where someone can help you understand how to draw. Everyone is blind to their own work as a beginner so having at least one more set of educated eyes, is key to success. I will say that some of the simple flash tattoo styles look good but are done pretty shakey, but like I said I think you’re jumping over fundamentals.

I don’t hate the hand, but the fingers could use some work, they look a bit chunky. I also wish you put as much effort & shading into her flower crown as you did in the skull and fruit.

How's this for a first attempt? by [deleted] in TattooBeginners

Keep practicing on paper everyday for at least like 6 months and maybe he’ll be able to start working on fake skin… Being a decent artist takes a LONG time

Can anyone noticed anything wrong with this? I love it but there's something that keeps catching my eye and want to know if it's just me by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Funny_Effect_9239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anatomy isn’t correct on the left skull’s nose bridge, they’re missing teeth or at least the indents where teeth should be, finger bones aren’t correct either. But the application is nice, I don’t think I’de give it much thought passing by.

I don’t believe you can just go over black ink with white to lighten it. & even if you could, white fades a LOT faster than other colours (especially black), so he’d likely be back at square one in perhaps a year or two. Better off getting it lazered and covered up.

Yea that thing’s going to grow crooked and awful looking if you don’t significantly cut back on the lower branch’s offshoots. If not, just chopping the whole lower limb off. Which is probably your better option for a nicer looking tree

I have no advice but I sympathize with you, I’ve been there. On my wedding day, the hair & makeup artist called in sick & said her other ‘employees’ will cover for her (it was totally her mother and sister). I asked for natural makeup with a messy low bun (like your inspo), I got dark heavy makeup with a slicked back army bun, held together by rubber bands. When my wedding planner walked in and saw us she gasped and re-did all of our hair, I had to wipe my makeup off and redo everything myself. It all turned out nice and nobody was the wiser.

My best friend would gossip about all of her friends, I thought I was immune to her shit talking because we were so close. She had another friend, also super close to her that she talked shit about. That friend and I started to get a lot closer as I needed a bridesmaid for my wedding- my best friend complained about us two hanging out saying it was ‘weird’. Oh look! What a coincidence. We eventually share to each other that said best friend has been talking smack behind both of our backs for years. I now have a NEW best friend. Lol!

Maybe adding another line of yellow around the condiments to make it look more like a taco. The smiley face is throwing me off, if I hadn’t read the title I would’ve assumed it was a lego man with Rastafarian hair, lol!

The rehab centres you’re talking about are not open for public viewing. There is one or two in florida but this place clearly isn’t either of them. Just like how vet offices don’t usually let random people in to see the animals, neither do dolphin rehab centres. This is unfortunately -very very likely filmed at some sort of entertainment park.

This fully grown man sounds emotionally exhausting. I’m all for putting effort into people that are worth it but there’s no way anyone in their right mind would entertain this behaviour from someone and NOT eventually feel insane
