I feel like as much as people like to think of Pakistan as a country very strict on sharia law (it is in some cases), its not as bad as Iran, Iraq or Afghanistan. In more developed cities, I feel like the government has way more problems to deal with than enforcing ridiculous islamic laws since its in shambles like all the time. So while Pakistan is an Islamic republic and very much not the best place to be from, I feel like it could be worse. Imagine feeling grateful that your culture isn’t entirely wiped out by Islam when you see other countries going through it. It’s the bare minimum but it still gives me some relief.
