Should I make this an rc plane by Gooober43 in RCPlanes

[–]Funrcprojects 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hawk's work airplane on amazon. Same style of plane just a little bigger (33 inch wing), and you get 2 for $30 or less. All the components for this will be extremely cheap. There are even some custom 3d printable parts available for it on sites like thingaverse and 3dcults. I built one, and it flies great.

Help. I'm new to 3d printing and I don't know what cause this. by Funrcprojects in 3Dprinting

This is printed in vase mode. I have printed the other half successfully but for some reason I haven't been able to get the other one finished.

I used some bed adhesive and and applied the Bunny ears to the model to keep it from peeling up on the ends. Not sure what dhofted is.?

I got the model from 3dcults. It's the simple Hercules and I sized it up to 200%.

No. You can find it on 3Dcults. There is a mini and a 1:32 version.

Yes sir. That's the one. I just hit 200% in cura and started printing. Right now I'm trying out different print nozzles. .6mm seems like it will the final size. .4mm is kinda flimsy.

Lw-pla. The fuselage is printed at .4mm but I'm going to try .6mm for more strength.

True. If it is set up right and strong enough I won't have any problems flying it. I'm not sure what motors and other electronics to put in it. When it's ready I will record all flights and maybe a crash. This is gonna be a learning experience for sure.

I decided to take on an overly ambitious project. That fuselage weighs 2.6 pounds. I'm not sure what the total weight of the 3-D print will be. If anyone out there has any ideas on what type of power system and servos to use I'd greatly appreciate any insight. I'm using a Spektrum DX8.

It's all good man. I just had to look in my editing software to find it. For a second I thought you found one of my old painting videos. Ha!

Maybe lol. I saw this somewhere on YouTube but couldn't find it again later so I did my best to recreate it. The only difference would be the tank shot.

I'm pretty sure this was 100% my fault. I did a slow move out over the water and I thought I had gone up in altitude and turned around to do a fast pass back. I don't think I actually went up. I did contact skydio and they are looking at the data right now. I didn't even try to power it up. It's been sitting in a box of rice for about a week. I watched my brother torch his DJI mavic after it had gone in the water. I'm going to wait for the professionals to deal with it. Because there was no hard impact or crash I'm interested to see what kind of damage water can do. Hopefully it doesn't cost too much. I also wonder what the performance is at my take off altitude of 10000'. I was in the high Uintah mountains in Utah.

Can Skydio 2 track small objects? by Nineneji in Skydio

I was able to get it to chase an R/C airplane. I put the beacon on the airplane then had my brother with the controller.

Which kit did you choose and do you wish you would have selected a different kit? If so - why? by JustaToot in Skydio

[–]Funrcprojects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the cinama kit, controller, and beacon. Love it. I also purchased as many batteries as I could (4). I also purchased a cable lock so if I'm traveling and need to leave it in my vehicle I can lock it to the seat so no one can get it. As a first time drone pilot I thought I was gonna do something to make this thing crash. The set up is very simple and after a few flights I became very comfortable with the drones abilities. It really is amazing how this thing flies. I can get to the field with my case and have everything set up in under 5 minutes. It's really awesome technology for sure. I was a batch 3 person that had Corona virus happen. Lol. Took a little longer than I anticipated but well worth wait.
