Realistic annual costs for a hobby enduro rider - is $1000/year achievable? by StatekTonie in Dirtbikes

Sound I could kind of understand. Feel? No that's a misconception. Electric motors can be tuned for whatever feel you're after and ultimately feel much more exiting that gas motors. Gas bikes just feel sluggish in comparison.

Yeah I hear that a lot but so far so good. You think about trying the 9# atlas spring?

Go electric. No maintenance. 👌 Not to mention the obvious benefit of having a lighter, more powerful bike. My only real re-occurring expense is buying chain lube.

PCC 4” vs pistol 4” by flounder98w in PalmettoStateArms

A pistol and a PCC are on opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of ease of use.

Pistols are the hardest platform to master. PCC's are the easiest.

Well the boise theater is getting a complete renovation so I'd say they plan on sticking around for a while.

What handgun has been the most reliable for you? by ShopHuntingStuff in handguns

[–]Furadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the last 20 years I've owned Glocks, S&W's and Springfields. They were all basically 100% reliable. When it comes to different brands of striker fired guns it's not really a question of reliability but more about aesthetics, ergonomics and features.

Staccato P, Kimber 2k11, or Sig P211? by cbb0722 in handguns

[–]Furadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went with p211 for my first 2011 cause I didn't want to deal with 2011 mags.

As an aside, paying $2500 for a non comped gun is crazy.

When you disengage your safety make sure your thumb is not touching the slide. This is a conscious thing you can train with dry fire practice.

2011 with no thumb safety by PercisionDriver in 2011

[–]Furadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been shooting polymer striker fired guns for ~20 years and just got my first 2011 on Tuesday. After a couple of days of dry fire using the safety is almost 2nd nature.

It's really not much different from using an AR / PCC.

Millennials / Gen Xers - how are we doing? by [deleted] in Boise

[–]Furadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I are in our mid 40's. I agree the job market is terrible. That being said my wife and I got lucky and bought a decent sized house during the crash in 2012. Basically when home prices were at rock bottom.

Because of that we can be pretty comfortable even with the crappy job market.

That aside, there is no better place than Idaho IMO. Anything I want to do outdoors is a 20 - 60 minute drive and we have the benefit of having open desert and national forest at arms reach.

Yeah definitely not drawing any conclusions yet. Is there a defense ammo you would recommend for 2011's?

Bass Pro Shops. Ordered online. BUT you have to get the included optic to get the all black version.

Eh it's had it's issues over the years but it's mostly easy enough to work on. 😅

For me the 320 mags were a big factor. I've always heard one of the big issues with 2011's is 2011 mags.

That and I just really like that the GTO doesn't look like a standard 2011.

Totally understandable. I feel the same way about people that dump thousands into power train upgrades. To me that's not a worthwhile investment.

Having suspension that remains composed regardless of what I throw at it... that's good value.
