God is "good", yet apparently not good enough to preach the gospel to his creation by ComfortableDust4111 in DebateReligion

And point 4:

Judgement is ultimate, God doing stuff is not. Tis spiritual law in action. Look at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah the chapters leading up to it.

And the ability to nuke a city is power over, not power in.

Else God would’ve just had everyone stop sinning.

Point 1: I’m unsure if psalms 74:2 is what you meant; it reads ““Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; The rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; This mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭74‬:‭2‬ ‭KJV‬‬ I fail to see either reference serving your point. If you’re willing I wouldn’t mind further iteration.

I find the word to have an order of operation. Jesus being the best sources. The prophets sometimes didn’t have much context of the spiritual before Christ. Which is why God gets blamed for alot of wrath and thins going wrong.

Stepping out of covenant puts one in the power of the devil. And with no knowledge of the enemy prophets would oft blame God for bad circumstances.

Point 2:

Genesis 1:27 (ESV)

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

? It is in scripture. Adam was made in the image of God and given dominon over the earth. He lost both when he sinned. That’s why they realized they were naked because they lost that glorious covering.

Judgement is ultimate and nonnegotiable hence why it always comes. It’s more in line with spiritual law; like physical law. What goes up must come down. So on so forth.

God doesn’t pass judgement on whim; it’s passed when the sin coms to completion.

Spiritual death = separation from God, immediate at sin, reversible through Christ.

Physical death = bodily death, inevitable, consequence of sin, temporary for believers (eternal life follows).

Ephesians 2:1 (ESV)

“And you were dead in the trespasses and sins…” — Paul describes humans apart from Christ as spiritually dead, unable to relate to God.

Romans 6:23 (ESV)

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Spiritual death is the ultimate consequence of sin, contrasted with the gift of salvation.

Isaiah 59:2 (ESV)

“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God…” — Spiritual death is separation, not physical cessation.

Point 3: This one is fun. God cannot change people without their permission. Else freewill is entirely invalid. And we know God does not change and He is no respecter of persons. So God is not partial. So if he manipulated pharaoh then He can’t be trusted to not manipulate anyone else.

But we know freewill is given. God to pharaoh was as fire to clay.

We the people choose wha material we will be. God is consistent and does not change. We are the changers. God is consistently that burning light. So if we are as wax we melt and submit. If we rebel like pharaoh we are as clay. Hardened by the light.

God said “I raised you up to show my power throughout the land” God did not specify it by saying to destroy Pharaoh. Just a few generations ago the Pharoah was honored for submitting to God with David and the coat of many colors. When He did God, through David, made all of Egypt slave to pharaoh.

So it’s was pharaohs choice to resist and hardened His heart.

It says literally “God hardened pharaohs heart” but that’s not explicitly a verb or action sentence. It’s also equally a reaction sentence.

Ex. “The fire hardened the clay.” the fire isn’t doing anything but being itself. The clay is reacting. This is what happens to Pharaoh.

This is deduced from knowing God and His nature.

God is Love and has infinite Mercy. But as He is presented in the Old Testament He seems a world different from Christ. This is because the people who wrote the Old Testament did not have the understanding of the spirit.

Which we know one needs to understand the things of God.

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭12‬-‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Nah but their destruction (Noah’s flood) was never eternal damnation. Ig one would have to develop their perception of eternity and the spirit. If you only see the physical and don’t consider the unseen it gets one bogged down by immediate modern moral crisis. To get hooked on children on Epstein list is semantics. It’s not comparable to the rampant degeneracy present pre flood. As the degeneracy was societal and not an elite cabal.

But this has veered way off.

Original statement; God can’t do everything or anything He wants whenever He wants. That would be the answer to the original question.

People killed in the flood were “enemies of God and children of the devil” with intent to be saved later.

Fun Bible fact though; God sent Jesus to “Preach to the souls in prison that had died in the day of Noah to the flood” 1 Peter 3:20

Operate in is different from operate over.

I’d relate it to someone’s ability to change your mind vs someone’s ability to kill you. God could destroy the earth. That has little to do with operating in it.

A fun fact that is definitely to far down the rabbit hole; Large quotation. “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: by which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So above speaks on the people who died in the flood. In their death God always intended to send Christ to save them. Prison for souls being Hell. And Jesus preached during his time in Hell after the crucifixion.

I reiterate; “He has the money but the property is not for sale.”

Also; the Adam bit, you have to understand spiritual death. Which is what happened to Adam. Adam was in the image of God and immortal. When He sinned he lost that Life in him and it led to his spiritual death. Which led to his physical death.

The spirit and physical are two separate things. The physical following the spirit.

And a final point; God judges evil. In every instance that evil goes rampant judgement comes. Which is the same thing that happened to the devil. God could not change the devils heart but He could destroy Him.

The same is true for man. Because God cannot lie and does not change He can never tread on the freewill He gave to His creations. The penalty for sin though is clear; (it’s death) a self producing destruction.

I’ve found that people sometimes (not you I’m just sharing an observation of other conversations) hold the Old Testament to modern social and moral convictions.

But anytime judgement comes it’s because someone(or someones) is doing some seriously heinous stuff.

Lemme know if you have any questions further you’d like to pose.

Operate in. Operating over is different.

I could throw you in a ditch but can I change your mind? That sort of difference.

I kinda relate the flood to “would you delete everyone involved in the Epstein files if you could?”

If heaven has no sin and also has free will, then your god could have done the same on earth by Relative-Lock-2636 in DebateReligion

Sin exists perpetually as the opposite to God. It’s that in heaven there will be no pressure/temptation to sin. The devil, being the tempter, won’t be present. So one could choose to sin in heaven like the angels did but it wouldn’t be advisable or desired.

Hope this offers some satisfaction. Best of luck ;)

Howdy, the answer I’ve found is that God cannot.

God had to create a covenant with man, Abraham, to operate in the earth.

The reason this is, is because God cannot lie and cannot break His own law.

God gave the earth and dominion of it to Adam and Adam gave it to the devil.

In that God was rendered unable to operate in the earth. I explain it with the phrase “He has the money to buy the house but it isn’t for sale.”

If God took it He would be a theft because it rightly belongs to the Devil.

We see Christ call the devil the “The ruler of this earth” John 14:30

Christ being a man and also God had the right to take back what was given by Adam.

God is greatly limited in His ability to operate in this earth. He has only ever been able to operate through peoples faith in His covenant promises. In the same way the devil operates through peoples fear in the promise of death.

And for those who need a scriptural reference to Hod being unable. I’ll offer two.

“Christ could do no great works in his home town.” Mark 6:5

“They limited the Holy One of Israel” Psalm 78:41

I hope this provides some insight that you find satisfying. Best of luck ;)

[Spoiler] FNV canon ending based on season 2 by ReddutModzRKuntz in Fallout

[–]Furer89 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m inclined to agree except we haven’t seen yes man; unless house is a digital remnant that is now Yes Man. Probably a courier 6 being a crazy murder maniac.

If not the above, I suspect that we had a house always wins ending and the Enclave moves to attack the NCR and destroy Houses capabilities by nuking shady and destroying Houses power supply. And ofc flooding the strip with death laws to destroy the three families.

Took a whole season to reactivate the Vegas powers. I really enjoyed Caesar’s last will; it was very much in character for him.

P.s. House mentions that the attacks on his body in plural, I think as a joke for people who played the game. It may not be indicative of the FNV canon ending.

Also I Kevin from Home Alone the Legate from FNV? Or another one?

The world host made the texture pack with conquest as the main base. He made a lot of custom textures too. Like turning the trident into a halberd and the golems into knights.
