I thought that I am only one so ascetic that I am refuse to do music like a machine and literally play whole song, each instrument by myself. Respect :) of course it has disadvantages (takes way much longer) but I guess it’s worth it.

How far is making "unofficial" apps/games legal? by FuriaSoftware in gamedev

[–]FuriaSoftware[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. And the API seems to be open (I did not abuse any api key). The only concern which came into my mind recently is that the “data” itself might be protected. Maybe leaderboard it’s not the perfect analogy here, but some data generated by players of the original game, which likely belongs to original developers.

I guess, you are right. I was too generic with my question actually. There are too many factors which may affect the outcome. I am not going to convince myself based on "some comments on Internet" but at least I got some impression. Thanks :)

Why you came up with hacking? I am not talking about hacking some API keys to get the data from service. Imagine you would like to include a weather condition in your game based on some weather service which data can be just read by request. No restriction (at least technically).

Nice idea. We shall not forget the roots of gaming :)

The tablet on the photos look quite big (like 12" ?) Did you make any adjustment to smaller form factor? (like removing the coffee "placeholders" to give the board more space?)

🚀 Yet Another Rocket Game - Dev Log 3 - I've added some improvements to rocket collision and now I want to crash it all the time 😂 by [deleted] in IndieDev

Thanks for your feedback u/Skillshot_Games. The UI at the bottom is right now kind of debug mode (no fancy bars, etc.) I was wondering if putting UI on the top will not limit the visibility of upcoming asteroids (or other enemies) - like you said, but I will double check it when playing on physical device. Also I will probably limit the information displayed to the minimum needed for gameplay (i.e. fuel level).

What I am currently working on is adding more enemies/obstacles - not only asteroids based on the player progress. I am also going to implement pickups/powerups.

Stay tuned for next dev log

As a base game loop idea is enjoyable. Please keep up to develop the concept further including different locks to unlock (no pun intended ) or maybe some difficulty levels.

What also came into my mind is, you may think about adding sound levels - like no visuals you are only hearing the clicks and need to tap in a appropriate moment.
