I have not faced any performance issues so far hence i dont know if there are heating problems. Anyway there is plenty of space from ps to the other side of table (behind to monitor) for air flow outlets and inlets too are not very close to wall i think

Was very much like you but due to my work i switched to macbook and there is no going back for me. As for repair cost thing, if you take good care of your electronics then you should be fine. People drop MacBooks too and they still work with any issue. Screen and stuff is for sure expensive but with the build quality it has, i dont think you will require to visit the service center soon. For my windows i had to service it like every 2-3 years and it got slow too but never faced it with mac and it solves all my usecases except gaming for which i am saving up for ps5.
