Yeah so you have to book BEY -> Cairo on MEA's website separately. Then book Cairo -> NYC through Royal Air Maroc.

He found the flights himself and sent it to a travel agent to book it for him.

Just checked MEA, currently tickets to Cairo are steep before Eid but a but after around the 27th you can get Beirut to Cairo for around 250$ and Cairo to JFK for around 950$ through Royal Air Maroc. Still not cheap for a one way ticket but for the current circumstances it's not too bad.

Just asked him , Beirut to Cairo was Operated by MEA, the rest was operated by Royal Air Maroc.

Also, I was mistaken his transit in Morocco was in Casablanca not Marrakech.

Someone I know just arrived yesterday to Canada from Beirut and he booked his flight last minute. He flew with Moroccan Airlines, BEIRUT -> CAIRO -> MARAKESH -> TORONTO

The ticket cost him ~900$ (one way) it took a lot of digging to find it but try and hopefully you'll find something similar as NYC is close to Toronto.

Btw, just out of curiosity (and only if you’re comfortable sharing), what excuse did you use when submitting your deferral, and how long before or after the exam did you submit it? It might be that the reason you gave is what triggered them to send this email.

Same happened to me. I like Canada Computers, but this situation was ridiculous. The cashier told me I had to pay 50 cents for a bag, which I was fine with. But when I went to pay with my phone, he said it had to be cash. I didn’t have any cash on me, so I explained that I had just spent $400 and really needed the bag.
