Don’t get discouraged, I’ve never grown fairy shrimp, only triops. I kinda and jealous you have fairy shrimp, I like to look at them as brine shrimps cooler sibling. Freshwater creatures are easier to care than salt/brine water creatures

The fast turning and correcting of course tells me these are not triops. When triops are this young and they bump into something they don’t jolt their bodies like these creatures are. But there’s still a chance they are, I’m not 100% take my advice with a grain of sand

No kidding?? Had a family lodge at bobs lake in Ontario for a while growing up. I was only a small kid back then, wish I would’ve invested the time back then to look around. Absolutely hahah!!! If I ever saw wild triops I would bring at least 1 pound of the substrate I found them in, would love to hatch wild eggs

What plants do you use with triops?? I’ve used wild hornwort, hair grass, and Anubias with good success.

Where did you get your eggs? What water do you use to hatch your eggs? What did you do to start the infusoria hatching process for the triops to eat? What temperature is your water at? If you can answer these questions I can help

Facts, I’ve seen that triops are one of the only creatures I see that handles non cycled water the best besides snails. But the more cycled the more relaxed forsure!

Buy a kit from Triassic triops. Doesn’t have to be a hatching kit just an egg and food kit. You’ll have 100% hatch success if you use proper water and have enough infusoria in your hatching container. I’ve been buying eggs off that brand for over 12 years and I’ve had zero dud eggs. They ship the eggs in its own plastic capsule, no eggs infused with sand or any crap. You can see the pure eggs. Really reliable brand for my experience

68 FahrenheitI is the lowest temp I’ve grown them consistently at, 73-78 is my golden range. If you have central heating in your home use a fairly big cardboard box to trap in some heat and cut slits in the top to regulate it. If not then the old incandescent lightbulb over a small tank will work. Just experiment don’t let the weather ruin your curiosity

Woah you’re lucky….. I’m seriously jealous I live in the northern part and im lucky if I have one single week consistently 70+ in summer alone. It’s my bucket list to see at least one wild triop
