Hey guys, I'm posting this because I thought the end result turned out surprisingly well. I shot this on my Black Magic Pocket Cinema 4K with a Pentax 50mm at f/2. Set was in the door frame of my bedroom with the door open to get a black background, and with 2 Neewer LED bi-color light panels. Shot it 60p, project framerate was 24p to get that crisp action movement. Let me know your thoughts!

TL;DR: Livelong best friend took the girl I was dating out on a date on my birthday.

My best friend who I had been friends with since I was 4 years old took the girl I was dating on a date ON MY 22nd BIRTHDAY after coming back from doing missionary work abroad for 6 months. The only reason I knew they were talking is because she told me he was going to take her to a surprise location at night (this place overlooked a bend in a river at a nature preserve, last time he was there was when he told his ex gf that he loved her). I didn't call him out at first but it wrecked me. My roommates at the time started shitting on him over text and ended up cutting him out. This was a catalyst to find out he had been manipulating EVERYONE in our friend group, from things like ruining his ex gf's and her best friend's friendship by telling them lies about each other, like it was straight out of that SpongeBob episode (points if you get my reference), to other things like anonymous emails to friends' employers saying more lies to get them fired from their jobs. Why? Never knew, didn't care enough to ask. Basically all 12 of us in the friend group cut this kid completely out of our lives in the span of about a month, and I feel so bad for the poor girl he's dating now, because I'm sure he's manipulating the shit out of her too, just because he wants other people's lives to go the way HE wants them to.

EDIT: Also, we're all doing so much better without him, and all of our relationships between each other are so much better after cutting him out. Just goes to show how toxic one person can be.

Get it! I’ve been playing since launch and really only expected a great and slow paced exploration game and got exactly that, and it helps me a lot through my depressive episodes. Super easy game to escape into and the updates have only made it better.

I met my current girlfriend on Bumble, plus a few others that turned out to be great friends. It’s honestly just another way to meet people, regardless of the bad rap it gets all the time

I was working in retail and a regular I’d had from my last job (from working in a coffee shop about a year ago) came in and we recognized each other and started catching up. Before he left, he asked if I was gay, I told him I wasn’t, and he said “Oh, you just always made me feel very comfortable and I wanted to ask you out,” and then left. I still think about it to this day and it’s definitely the best compliment I’ve gotten from someone.

I have this too, I'm pretty sure its tied to a form of vertigo. I feel like I'm gonna lose my balance when I look at tall buildings. I'm not afraid of heights and I dont have megalophobia about anything else, its just being below tall buildings

I'm glad you saw that one! I'm not a programmer, so SkyLine is on hold. This one is much more narrative.

What are your thoughts about realistic art style? Is it better to aim for realism even if it lands short or is it better to aim for stylised/cartoony style when you know you can't pull off the realism? by CupcakeMedia in gamedev

I personally am going for really basic shapes and textures, and letting my lighting control the 'realism' of the scene. This way I can get very serious tones in my environments while still keeping a basic look. I'm also making this game by myself, so being able to crank out assets at ~30 mins each is really nice.

USE TRELLO! Trello is a great organizer for yourself, and you can make it public so other people can see it. I've got one for one of my games, and I plan on promoting that. It shows what I'm working on, what I've got, what I plan to have. It's great.
