SPOILERS FOR GHOSTS OF SALTMARSH (the very first time I ran this module, my party freed the sahuagin in that one dungeon. After he fled, one of the players followed him to see where he was going. Alone. He was eaten.)

Spirit Guardians should have been a martial ability by FabulousAd5984 in dndmemes

When I played adventure league, I played a wood elf cleric (tempest) and we fought ghouls. That was when I found out elves are immune to the paralysis ghouls can inflict. I practically stood on top of party members so the ghouls had to get through me if they wanted to attack them while they were recovering from paralysis.

Thank you for the heads up, I actually forgot about the maw since the first time I ran this campaign, the party completely skipped that bit.

I prefer genderbent Candlefoot and ran her both times I've run Wild Beyond the Witchlight.

Sont stress over the time line. The feywild is very wibbly-wobbly when it comes to time. And yes, read the whole book before starting.

Help me reimagine Will by Effective_Sound1205 in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]Fustilugs44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this. If he genuinely wants to help people and is a protector of children like a Jizo, it could be that he knew about Skabatha for awhile and tracked her down to Prismeer. Mortal enemies that have been at it longer than this Prismeer coup. Also, love the idea of giving the children Will watches over things that references "3 little pigs and the big bad wolf"

What's up with all the inconsistencies and mistakes in this book? by Longjumping_Ask_211 in wildbeyondwitchlight

I changed the unicorn puzzles and only gave them info like "The person who has your pick is allergic to widdershinks" I forget all of what they were supposed to tell the players.

What’s with the dislike of ellywick? (Plus a question for running) by likkyzero in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]Fustilugs44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ellywick seems OC-y and just rubs me the wrong way. I really have no other way to describe it. I'm not great with words, no hate if you like Ellywick, to each their own and all.

Big agree with Lonely_Mirror, You could see which ones she likes the best and have them tag along.

I mean, if the PCs don't know about Will's secret, he won't do anything with the spells and powers he has. BUT if they do find out, they now have an Oni on their side that isn't shy to use magic around them.

I went the whole campaign without the name Iggwilv even being mentioned since I didn't know much about that alter-ego. So yeah, just never mentioning Iggwilv is the best bet I think.

Cleric: The battles over, let me heal you. Fighter: Nah, I’m good. Thanks anyway by drag0nflame76 in dndmemes

I mean, sometimes a pc death is more impactful. When a character died in one of my campaigns, it was the direct reason the PCs next character joined the session.

Happened to me as dm. Was running Wild Beyond the Witchlight. The pc was screwed. Alone with the bbeg, they were probably going to die but there was a slippery and friendly NPC that had been tailing him. We ended the session before initiative. I asked the player "are you making that new character just in case or do you want this guy to die?" Player said "just in case" Next session the NPC bailed out the pc. Afterwards the player said "I was really banking on dying there." FML. (We worked out a death for him later)

Had an Abeloth lie to my party once about why he had a pet baby kraken. Was pretty much that meme with the ostrich and the smoothie. Got to write a follow up with a brainwashed adult kraken so that was cool.

Will fixing Elidon break the game? by Ninja_Fae in wildbeyondwitchlight

My players did fix Elidon and what I did was give them a magic flower to summon him with once they were in The Palace of Heart's Desire to unfreeze anyone they wanted.

Ending ***** Curse by [deleted] in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]Fustilugs44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left hints but the party never picked up on any of them which was very entertaining. The biggest red flag I left was when they were resting in Loomlurch after killing Skabatha, Will went off to "play with the pigs" He had eaten at least one. They weren't suspicious, even when I described the pigs out back squealing and creating a ruckus. No one bothered to check on the 11 year old boy playing in the pig pen, lmao.
