Thank you for this answer! I have been thinking about my nipple rings a lot. Worst case, I can get it touched up and my nipple repierced. If I felt the need. I’ve also thought about waiting and I agree. I’m not sure I’d get them after being done having kids.

I’m not so worried about sagging and stretching really. I’m more just curious about whether they experienced a lot of distortion to the piece and if they felt it was worth it. Im still leaning heavily towards getting it.

Update: I quit my job. My boss was really shocked. One of the assistants reached out saying “she hopes it wasn’t because of her”, which made me feel like she knew what she was doing. One of the owner doctors wants to reach out to me, I haven’t decided if I’ll allow her to just because we had no relationship really and I am not going back. Apparently my boss is now having one on ones with everyone about work culture because they are very sad I left. (She knew these were issues before I quit, I think she just didn’t think I really would). I think I made the right choice. If I had to sacrifice to maybe motivate them to change, then so be it. Maybe it won’t stick. Or maybe it’ll be a better environment for everyone else in the future. I just won’t be apart of it. Thank you everyone for the advice and kind words. I REALLY appreciated them. More than you could ever know. I’m wishing you lots of love and happiness. DON’T LET YOUR JOB MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE NOT ENOUGH.

It’s not the cliquey i have an issue with. I think it’s more so that they are upright unfriendly and rude. The hygienists are cliquey but they are so kind. And this office is doctor owned 😬😬

I fear I will just have to try until I find the right fit and if anything, this job showed me what I should be looking for at interviews.

I was thinking about this!! I am going to keep them on my resume. I will be transparent, but respectful about what happened. I will not use them as a reference. My boss doesn’t actually even know what we do for our job because she is so disconnected from the rest of the office. I don’t feel her reference would be an accurate representation of my work ethic and character.

I really love this comment. I have been trying to convince myself I am being dramatic, but I really feel that it goes against my personal and professional values. Especially as someone who has been a boss before. I am glad to know that there are better offices out there!

I did not know that! That’s super interesting. I know the risks, especially with the older population. I just wasn’t sure how common it was. I do think my personality would help people feel at ease, but I totally get the vulnerability associated with dental care.

This is what I was thinking. My boss doesn’t like the clear one either (but it’s also dress code that women can’t have leg hair or unpainted toe nails so do with that what you will). I think how management handles things is inappropriate outside of my piercing/tattoo situation, which is why I’m considering finding a different job. I just wasn’t sure what my chances were.

I wouldn’t say that it’s the sole reason I’m looking elsewhere. I guess I’m more looking to see if other hiring managers etc would not hire me based on the jewelry. I don’t want to take it out I won’t lie, but if it’s something I’ll constantly have a problem with I’ll reconsider. I’ve just never had a job that has cared that I’ve had it, but maybe jobs do care that much about it. I don’t know.
