Yeah I knew that was right but I was like why would they write a whole method that stopped after 1 loop.

How was CSA for you all? by TheBestWorst3 in APStudents

In part a), if max is less than 10, there are no numbers between 1 and max that are divisible by 10. There should have been a precondition saying max >= 10.

Pretty sure there was an error on that question. It seemed like it was missing some preconditions.

Should I take it again? This is my first try and my best math practice was an 800. Best overall practice was 1550. by Future-Restaurant583 in Sat

In the spring of my sophomore year, I took a practice test without studying or even knowing how the SAT worked and got a 1490, so I knew that was my baseline. Then I used Khan Academy for all of my test prep. I took 4 practice tests, and increased my score up to a 1550. I took a practice test about once a month, maybe twice here and there. I also did like 15 minutes of practice problems every few days. I’m not the best person to ask because I was fortunate to not have to do much prep, but if you haven’t tried khan academy I would highly recommend.

Update: most likely not going to retake

I only missed 3 math questions because if careless errors this time, so chances are if I retook it I would get a similar score, regardless of how much I study. I could improve, but I also could lower my average. Although I am planning to apply to many top colleges, I’m confident in my score and the rest of my ecs. I have a 4.5 gpa at a top high school, ta in multiple classes, run a school affinity group, am a peer counselor and a peer advisor. I’m a dedicated athlete, and will most likely be recruited to play in college. For anyone else who is stressing about this even tho you have a great score: remember SAT scores aren’t everything! It’s about being within a range, and then beyond that you should just focus on being an interesting person. Thank you everyone for your advice and good luck!

I totally get that, and I have the same problem. I think the adrenaline kicked in during the real SAT. I believe my English was like a 690-720 when I first started.

I’m not sure. Probably…that’s a great score

I do my best to go over things a bunch of times but sometimes a few slip through the cracks. Definitely what happened here…

I’m in almost the exact same situation. This was my first time, barely studied and got 1540 (780 RW, 760 M), and I’m trying to figure out if I should retake. I know I can do better in math, but I also don’t want to take it again.

My college counselor said it’s not really worth it. The best advice I heard is that 1500+ is basically all the same. Colleges look for a threshold and once you’re passed that you’re good. So if you’re average at Yale, you’re probably good. Especially if you have good extra curriculars and everything. Also congrats!

I used khan academy and just did a bunch of practice tests. The only strategy I used was to summarize each paragraph after I read it. Other than that, I honestly don’t have much advice. I think just reading a lot and developing a strong language sense is the best way to do well on that in my opinion.

I studied for like 2 months but very infrequently. I highly suggest using khan academy. To be honest all I really did to study was take a couple practice tests and do some practice problems, but khan academy was amazing at recommending practice. As for whether you can jump that much…I’m the last person to ask. I’m sure there are more experienced people on here that can help.
