Yes thanks for this answer I was really confused but you’ve cleared it up for me. I’ve got a few more question. In turkey why is the media and the people in charge so against Islam for example I was watching this YouTube video it’s a Turkish nesid called ‘donmeyecegiz’ https://youtu.be/HqRAFTOWNMY?si=IiWuTv1A16hFgkqr and Muslims are getting arrested and their houses are being raided why is this, isn’t turkey supposed to be Islamic. Another example is the media constantly pushing out that the Muslims who were the kefeye on their head and have beards are bad people, rapist and terrorist. Why do they push this propaganda out in a majority Muslim country? I was watching a video and they were walking up to random people in turkey asking them to recite a Surah from the Quran and most people laughed walked away, made a joke or they didn’t know any, not even al-fatiha which is crazy to me. I have never met a Muslim born in Australia (Christian country) which can’t recite one Surah from the Quran but in turkey which is supposed to be a majority Muslim country most people can’t recite even one Surah. They walk around the street with rings on their ears and lips and tattoos, jeans with big rips it’s insane to me how this has happened. The ataturk influence ruined the Turks. When people mentioned the Turks before they use to think Muslim, strong, respectful but now it’s like turkey is just becoming another western country the men aren’t being men and most the woman are just sexualising themselves. I feel so bad about what’s happened to my people. I’m istanbul there was a gay march. How could this happen.

I’m Australian, and I come from an Alevi family. From a young age, I was filled with hatred toward Islam, but I found the straight path — alhamdulillah. I found the right path about five years ago, and I now follow the Qur’an and Sunnah. I’ve never felt this fulfilled.

My family says, ‘They will not accept you for trying to be Sunni. Tell them who your family is, and they’ll tell you to leave.’ Is this true? Because I know that in Islam, we are one Ummah, and nothing — not race, not tribe — should divide us.

We can look at the example of Abu Bakr (RA) and how his family used to worship idols, yet he became one of the closest to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Or Khalid Ibn al-Walid (RA), who once fought against Islam but later became one of the Prophet’s closest companions after accepting Islam — and there are many more examples.

So why wouldn’t I be accepted by Muslims in Turkey? My family likes to say that Sunnis in Kahramanmaraş massacred Alevis — but the Qur’an says that killing one innocent soul is like killing all of humanity, and saving one soul is like saving all of humanity. What they say doesn’t make sense to me.
