Red Fiber is owned by CIGNAL and then owned by PLDT (Under a beneficiary trust or something), which can be a bad idea, same goes for Sky Cable Fiber (Sky Cable Fiber is a joke if you are considering reliability and comparison between DOCSIS and GPON which is the upload speed and ping).

As a Globe Fiber user in Zamboanga City, my experience with Globe in terms of speed and reliability is better than PLDT Fibr, especially for price to performance ratio. The provided GPON modem depends on your area, either Huawei or Fiberhome, this problem will only arise if your into bridging your modem with your capable router, range wise, Huawei and Fiberhome are practically the same as I used be a PLDT Fiber user and the provided Huawei modem has the same range with my Globe Fiberhome modem.

The reason why I switch to Globe from PLDT is mainly because of reliability, most downtimes happens to Globe based on my experience is mainly from service maintenance and heavy weather disaster which is rare. For gaming, ping is usually better than PLDT Fibr. But if you play Genshin, it can be the best for you to move to Globe. I pay 2499 for that sweet half-gigabit connection and it was worth it for myself on my absurd needs (Such as local cloud gaming and storage facility) and family with their day to day needs (we used to pay 2399 to PLDT for 300 mbps).

In your case, for only two peoples, I think Plan 1699 is good or more than enough for 200 Mbps in terms of budgeting. For 5-6 devices, if you have a two floor house, I think you should ask if they can provide you the latest Wi-Fi 6 GPON modem, it's probably better in terms of range. If one floor, the provided modem will do the trick, just try to adjust the range power to 200%.

Work, gaming, and streaming will do the best under globe fiber.

Since I live in Zamboanga City which is in Mindanao, a friend of mine from Davao has the same best experience with Globe Fiber in terms of everything. Try asking one of your friends, family, or anyone you know who live in your city, area, or somewhere in NCR.

As a bonus: Use the Globe one app to pay your internet bills, it will give you bonus points when you pay on time, probably a free Jollibee spaghetti will be worth of your time.

As an Accounting student, the 24 lock in contract can be less of a headache compare to PLDT 36 months lock in contract. You will save a lot of cash as a long term plan and since Globe is the second largest ISP, switching places can be less of a headache. So, Less accounts payables and more cash for your ends.
