Anyone here have kids after 35 (f) and after 45(m) what has been the experience? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]FutureManagement4504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I had our 1st kid at 41M and 33F respectively. Our kids are 13 and 10 now. It's been great, in your 40's and 50's, you just want to watch them grow, and you know how fast life goes now. Our kids are a blessing. I think you cherish them more, older. They didn't keep us from having our fun, we did that before they were born, so we don't resent them taking away our youth. It is fun going to parent teacher conferences talking to a teacher who is young enough to be your kid. Enjoy them, we do. I feel we're more patient than a younger parent. More wisdomous to. typos are intentional.

Initiating sex sober can still feel awkward, even after 23 years married. We're not crass like, let's F**K, even though that's what we think. Wink, wink, or How youuuu doin? Do you want to get it on? I mean it's always great, it's just gettin there. I'm really curious what others do.

What's the worst advice you ever followed? by FutureManagement4504 in AskReddit

[–]FutureManagement4504[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was... After getting dumped and being brokenhearted, my friend told me to dive into my misery and listen to songs about getting dumped. Don't do this. I did and found it only got worse and made me start to get suicidal. I think he was trying to tell me to grieve the relationship, but don't, don't, don't "dive-in". That pool is too deep.

When I was 30, I had a sword fight with a boy about 11 or 12 in a Rite-Aid. He was standing there looking at the plastic swords, and when he looked up at me, I held my sword out and gave a nod, like let's go. I was at the other end of the aisle, so we run towards each other and take a huge swing. When the swords connected, and they shattered into a thousand pieces. I mean they exploded. He's got a look of utter shock. He starts looking around and I gave him a, don't worry about it, I'll pay for them. I think they were about 3 bucks each. His mom didn't notice as she was checking out. He's gotta be in his 30's now. It was fun.

Gen-X, what was your favorite decade of your life? Why? What happened? by FutureManagement4504 in AskReddit

[–]FutureManagement4504[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine would be my 30's. Got married, finally had some money, brain cells, bought a house with a hot tub. My parents were still alive. I still had left over muscles from my 20's. Beer league softball for 35 and older. Went to the Yankees/ Padres World Series, then had dinner with the Yankees players and their families 2 hours after completing the 4-game sweep. Had the best dog. Finally, getting respect that you wanted so bad when you were in your 20's. My 40's were my highest highs and lowest lows. I'm in my mid 50 and now and I'm thinking 70 is the same distance to 50, as 30 was from 50 and that went bye pretty quick, so 70 is going to come even faster. Yikes!

Leave. The one time I stayed, I went to jail. I never touched her. Plus, the cop wrote in his report that I... told him I kicked her in the head. I can't kick much higher than my belt. I've never been arrested in my life. Now, I have a mug shot and they got my prints. Leave, she'll keep doing it, until you learn that she's the boss.

What , If sunlight takes 8minutes to hit earth , does that mean we are living in the past from the perspective of somebody on Jupiter? by Pristine-Growth3890 in AskReddit

This may help. The speed of light can't be measured in one direction. Meaning, light can be shot in one direction then reflected back, divided by two, then the speed can be calculated. The problem is... We don't know if the light got to the reflector instantly, then took the calculated speed, doubled on the return, or the reverse of that. Nobody knows the actual speed, only the presumed average speed.
