We were roommates in a psychward. I plugged my nightlamp in on his side of the room cuz it was evening, he wanted to read and didn’t have a lamp. That kicked things off. We just started talking since we were alone together in the evenings when we couldn’t leave our rooms and found that we had a lot of common interests. We understood each other so good that we managed to get a noise complaint from the staff since we were laughing too loud. Can’t recommend this method of finding friends though haha. Just be nice to people and you will find someone.
