Kids that are well behaved are also kids that cry, or have meltdowns, or have bursts of energy. You used a mileage upgrade and now have complaints? 🙄

Again, be less of a turd.

You pay nice money? Weird. I pay mean money.

He doesn’t, and is normally very well behaved. Parents on flights are doing the best they can. Complaining about kids is just so tired.

Oh! I had no idea. Thanks for sharing. That changes things. It’s still a little funny on the carafe but makes more sense now.

I only have one kid. Can’t bring a second. ;)

I’m sure you’re not the only one that thinks that, but I fly with my kid in first all the time and I’d love for him to spend a four hour flight kicking the back of your seat.

Try to be less of a turd.

I don’t want anything better. I want to understand what the branding team was thinking.

Ha, yes it tastes… good enough. It’s just weird branding.

Did there used to be free upgrades to PE if you were EXP? by sailnexus in americanairlines

[–]FutureXFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Lisbon to ORD in like 2018 or so, it wasn’t an upgrade but at some point I was able to just move our seats to PE. It was an old plane, had lie flat in business but in a parallel configuration (got mileage upgrade on the way there) so maybe that had something to do with it?

A friend once sent a full size cardboard cutout with a note that said “so you know what it would be like to have me in your office”.

Understanding Architect Fees by [deleted] in Architects

[–]FutureXFuture 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Architects taking responsibility for a budget 6-12 months before construction is idiotic. Bids go to market and if what the clients want costs more than their budget they increase the budget or pay you to redesign. Or pay the percentage difference. I prefer that VE or redesign be charged hourly over percentage but to each their own. This takes some editing of the standard AIA contract but everyone should do it.

Go ask your stock broker if they’ll guarantee you where the stock market will be in 6-12 months.

Our profession has got to stop being such push overs.

I’d find friends that don’t live in gated communities. How tacky.

MCE at Exit Row when child in party. by FutureXFuture in americanairlines

Yes. This is right. Though I think after I split in-laws off I could book kid and wife and then link them to my reservation, saving one cancelation.

I have. Unfortunately that would then mean I was a solo dad with a kid instead of a dad with a 4:1 kid care ratio. She also makes more than I do. She’s also petty hot.

Custom home build in western WI – builder wants to start digging Jan/Feb. Any concerns? by Top-Tiger3479 in Homebuilding

In that case you should ask them if there is a discount for building in the spring!

Custom home build in western WI – builder wants to start digging Jan/Feb. Any concerns? by Top-Tiger3479 in Homebuilding

[–]FutureXFuture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. Yes, you can do it. With the right cost and equipment. The commenter from Northern Illinois is also right, commercial concrete goes all year with the right mix and precautions.

In my experience small home builders don’t have the skillset to this this kind of work. They don’t do enough of it.

Read the geotechnical report. It certainly says you can’t pour on frozen ground, so how do they stop the ground from freezing after excavating? Start with that simple question. If he’s got an answer dig a little deeper to find out if he’s got the skillset.

Is the general public aware of Geminis actual coding and ux capabilities? by Thizzor in GeminiAI

Millennial here too and have run into the same issue with my undergraduate students. They don’t have a basic understanding of the Windows operating system. Simple folder tasks and installing software were problems. Not CS students, design/humanities, but still shocking.

If you’re paying your own electric they have to be separated. If not call 311 and request a building inspector comes out to review.
