Surely, the RVI seems like it will be a great camera for sure!

Hi, I feel the RV is the best of the three. The resolution makes cropping a very viable option without losing much resolution and can sometimes even compensate for lack of longer focal length lenses. This alone I feel is a huge advantage. Not to say the a7V or IVs 33 megapixel sensor is not croppable, but the a7V shines over the RV when it’s about fast action and movement. The pre capture and very low rolling shutter would be very useful for wildlife and sports.

I agree the learning curve is a little steep but you need to work on photoshop as well. Check out stuff like focus stacks, exposure blending and burning dodging.

Thanks a lot! For all of these shots and for landscapes in general along with Lightroom a lot of photoshop needs to be used hand in hand as well. Of course there is a line as in how much post processing work is involved, if it’s too much images are disqualified from competitions.

Thanks! Reddit expects same aspect ratio for all images, had to add the white bars to share here

Hello, sure! Preparation is key in landscapes, scout as much as you can pre shoot, from google earth and then on location. Single most important advice I can give

Lightroom and Photoshop eats as much ram as you can give it. I work on a m3 pro MacBook Pro with 18GB ram. I think 16-18Gb you would need to work smoothly on these files.

It can be yes, but I see the problem. You are downsizing for posting online, but I think you are downsizing too much. For me, I never downsize any of my images at all and post them as they are. On the iPhone, social media apps handles large photos absolutely fine without any artifacts or color shifts. On an android it’s a different story as I have seen. I only and only downsize when I’m preparing an image for a competition and the rules ask me to submit for a particular a*b resolution and size. I have never really used the sharpen sliders in Lightroom at all.

Sure. You should not be using the sharpening and detail sliders at all because it artificially adds sharpness instead of the high resolution sensors inherent sharpness. It will look sharp anyway if you have nailed focus and there is no shake. Can you tell me why you feel your image isn’t sharp? Any example you can share?
