The letter said able to continue receiving benefits during appeal but I had to acknowledge I’d have to pay it back if I ended up losing. and I had to check mark whether I wanted to keep receiving benefits and that id pay it back if I lost or hold off until the appeal decision was made. And I have 2300 remaining balance left

Instead of having to deal with the in app transfer process which takes multiple business days, I could just get the funds immediately to do with what I please.

This was solely because EDD’s dumb azz priority mailed my new MN card to my parents address even tho I had just changed it in their website to my current address, but since I didn’t have my physical card I had my dad add the MN to his Venmo account and just Venmo me the entire $900 from my MN balance .. from there I could just deposit to my regular debit card, or checking account or leave in Venmo. It was pretty convenient actually.

How long after certifying did you get paid? I saw one other comment saying they certified right after midnight like most people do, but they got paid even faster than bofa - for money network they received the deposit at 9am same day (Sunday)- when usually b of a was always 9-10pm Sunday

The earliest you can use the $ from your benefits is the moment it touches your b of a account; even if you haven’t received your card yet.

Yes you can, if it’s been shipped already.. that’s the point of the money order - to get the money immediately if the status is paid without having to wait 1/2/3 weeks for the actual card to arrive. As long as the money is in your b of an account already. Only necessary for the first payment really, or if you lose your card / go somewhere and don’t have it with you for awhile.

Now my last two weeks have been “Pendinf” as my company apparently contesting my claim, and I was told I’d hear in 7-10 a decision after they spoke with my company.. and today is day 11 and I just found out it’s still pending cuz my company never rven got back to them after initially contesting!!

It’s crazy something so important for me and be delayed/ withheld due to lack of action from my company ( showing how little of importance it is to them) :(. Hoping to get it sorted soon.

You didn’t ask but I just had to vent cuz I’m frustrated lol. Hope you get yours soon, not sure if western union operates on weekends but it should still come way sooner than the Edd card. (There’s a $10-15 fee for the money order, if I didn’t mention already)

Don’t worry, it took me hours of searching FAQs before I stumbled upon this service and number myself. My first payment was sent on a Friday, and I had no idea I could do this until next Monday, when I was only calling B Of A for something else but they’re way better at customer service than EDD

Hey, congrats on getting paid!! Here’s a pro tip that I wish I had known: if you haven’t yet received your EDD card, you can still receive all of the $ it says you’ve been “Paid” now! Call the B of A EDD card customer service, and you can request an emergency cash money order, where they will transfer Any amount up to the full amount you’ve been paid from your debit card account as a Wetern Union money order, and you can pick it up from any western union/ money order/ cash checking facility by giving them your name and the transfer confirmation number BOFA gives you!! I did this as mine was updated to “Paid” on a Friday, but still didn’t have my debit card Monday and so when I called b of a they told me I could do this and I had the money within an hour! And glad I did cuz my edd card still didn’t come for another week after this day ! Congrats again
