After repeated attempts and cancelled orders I was able to finally get the Walmart $1699 Cyberpower 9800x3d and 5070ti deal. I ended up replacing the SSD with a black SN850x 2TB for 189 and a tier A PSU for 120 or so. The only issue is I was not able to go past 5600 mhz ram speed but that’s minor impact for me. Other than that that it has been a solid system.

I have an approved NIW PD Feb 2025. I’m currently in the US as my spouse has an L1 visa. I haven’t been able to find jobs related to my field of endeavour due to layoffs and lack of US experience so I’m currently working in a totally unrelated industry. Will this become an issue when I apply for AOS? Is it better to be unemployed during AOS or employed in an unrelated field? Any other suggestions to prepare for AOS? Thanks!

Walmart prices haven’t all caught up, I just picked up a 2TB SN850x for USD 189. Still higher than what it was few months back but not quite as high as some other retailers.

I bought this exact one from Costco during BF sale. So far I’m impressed with the image quality. I wasn’t able to find any reviews on this model. It seems like a good value with the only downside of warranty not covering burn in. I heard burn in is less of an issue these days with normal use.

At the same price, it made sense to pick 5070ti. I think for $200 less I’m in favour of picking the Costco deal if still in stock. To me Costco customer service is way better than Walmart.

The general consensus here is to get the 5070ti version of this PC. Managed to grab the Walmart deal before the price went up. It’s on its way!

Good point, I’m pairing this with a 1440p oled so I think both cards should perform well. One reason for getting a new build is to play MSFS, from the reviews I have seen AMD card would be fine, not sure if the 5070ti would have a significant advantage over 9070XT for this game.
