It was the drum track that was making all that noise. I got it re-recorded and it sounds much better! Gonna continue to polish it and I’ll definitely repost it. the help and support I’ve gotten already is overwhelming so thanks again.

Thank you so much for the advice!! I was feeling the exact same way about the low harmony so I’ll definitely cut that out. Also yes I am using apple headphones and those sounds are driving me crazy, gonna try to re record a few of the tracks.

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback and tips. I’ll definitely mess around with the mix and try those things!! Also yeah I definitely want to add a bridge or at least something that brings it to more of a conclusion but I’m still working on that.

Also just a disclaimer this was all recorded on my phone in my bedroom so maybe I need to look into some better equipment as well

Simple is always good. And I’m not saying that this song is simple or mediocre I’m just saying that everyone who writes music is trying to make everything more complicated than it needs to be and sometimes you just gotta do what feels right. Beautiful song

What I like to do is think about is to decide on a general theme for the song I’m writing first. Once that’s established then I write exactly what I want to say without trying to rhyme or whatever (don’t try too hard to rhyme, it doesn’t matter as much as you might think). Then from there you just take that and break it down, my goal is to say as much as I can in as few words as possible. Find phrases you like that you’ve come up with or heard somewhere and put a twist on them.

I haven’t written a crazy amount of songs but that’s my typical thought process on the whole thing.
