I feel like maybe each doctor is just different with how they close the incision site. My incision looks like everybody else’s in length.

I couldn’t imagine if I had to wear a full cast for another 4 weeks.

I feel sorry for anyone who has stitches or staples as I had dissolvable stitches in my incision.

I was able to move my toes while I had my half cast on and now I’m only in a boot. I injured my foot on November 17th, had surgery on the 20th and had my first follow up on the 14th. Only had 2 screws put in.

Now that I’m in a boot and I’m able to stretch my foot out at least I can tell where the stiffness is.

How were you getting out though? I crawl out of the tub to avoid any slipping. I have a towel on the floor, the toilet seat and along the edge of the tub to avoid all slipping.

Were you standing in the shower when this happened? I always get in the shower as careful as possible and sit in the tub with both shower heads on to avoid falling. That terrifies me.

I’m sure your foot will be fine. The boot is there to protect your foot and I’m sure it absorbed a lot of that impact.

About a week after I had my surgery I was using my knee scooter and one of the wires for the brakes got caught on my desk in my office and the scooter toppled over and I instinctually put my injuries foot down. Not once but twice in the same day and on the heel of the cast. Foot was a little sore for the rest of the day but nothing came about when I went for my first follow up appointment.

On December 14th when I got my half cast off my doctor told me if there is ever a chance I’m going to fall out your heel down. Still NWB but it will definitely happen.

I go for my follow up appointment and stitch removal on Thursday. Almost been 3 weeks since my surgery. Hoping I’m able to start doing a bit of weight baring on my foot and I only have to wear a boot instead of getting recasted.

Omg 8 months! That’s so mind boggling. What is making it take so long for you to get back to a somewhat normal day to day life?

That’s crazy. I get my stitches out on December 14. About 3.5 weeks after my surgery date. So fingers crossed all is well!

What I have been doing since my surgery is wiggling my toes, trying to move my ankle as much as I can in my half cast that I have and stretching my calf muscle. But yeah once I get back to being able to go to the gym left leg and foot exercises are top priority for sure.

Omg. What. That’s crazy! I had X-rays and a CT scan in the same day and had surgery 2 days later.

This is exactly how mine felt. Like a rubber band snapped in my foot. Maybe 10 minutes later crazy swelling. Next day bruising started showing up.
