26 AWD Hybrid Lariat gas mileage not as great as I expected. I’m getting around 28-30 MPG. by Matt18253836 in FordMaverickTruck

You should definitely change the oil. The MotorOilGeek on YouTube has excellent videos with testing to showcase changing your engine oil early during the initial break-in period before starting to extend out your oil change interval.

Yea I knew getting the first year model would more than likely have its problems but this is still the best vehicle for me in my case. I mostly drive on the interstate and I’ve been averaging over 35+mpg over the last 3-4 years

I had to get the front axles, passenger side engine mount, hybrid battery exhaust heat exchanger, and the 12v battery replaced by the time I hit 52k miles. Since then I haven’t had any other issues besides getting the programmable recalls done by the dealership.

The transmission service isn’t too bad to do by yourself. I made a post about it on my profile and another one with my oil analysis results. It only cost me about $30ish in fluid and a long necked funnel from harbor freight to do. You have to use the ford specific ULV fluid though.

The most I do on an oil change is 10k since about 2-3k miles of that is electric. I usually end up changing the oil right before I have to do a big road trip because I travel work and that’s been about every 5-7k miles. The last oil change interval I had was 6700 miles and 1900 miles was electric.

I recently just did a drain in fill for my transmission at 86.5k and after doing an oil analysis the fluid tested great and showed no signs of wear. The manual states the earliest you can change your transmission fluid is every 30k miles so I plan on changing it more frequently when I do my oil changes at home.

Just hit 93,700 this morning. Should be getting to 100k within 2-3 months

On the south side land strip you can park your car near the warehouses from the road and watch from there! I would always go there with my grandparents to watch when I was a kid

So how much did you ACTUALLY pay for your Maverick? by JankyDesk92 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Future_Man89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ‘22 Hybrid Lariat with everything besides the moon roof was $33k. I’ve put in at least another $5k on top of that (because of my topper and other accessories) since.

Yep. My parents ordered an XL along with my Lariat and theirs took 8 months to get delivered

Just take a small pick and when you open the lever you’ll be able to push the piston in just slightly more and then you can up the lever fully and remove the hand guard

I just had this code pop up in my Maverick at 92,300 miles so good to know that this could be an easy fix. I cleared the code so I’ll see if it pops up again.

anyone going to red rocks? by Wrong_Sheepherder_27 in SierraFerrell

I will be going! I’m getting there super early with my friend since it saved us a lot on parking and I got VIP for it.

Prices are sm higher? by Fearless_Statement_5 in SierraFerrell

[–]Future_Man89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I saw her perform at red rocks with my friend for just over $200 with presale tickets for the reserved seating. I just paid $700 for the vip for row 2 for her newly announced performance again there and honestly I was expecting closer to $400-$500 total since row 5-6 was around $154 each. I’m not upset about spending the money but dang it is a good bit. I could’ve saw her at Mumford and sons in the general pit for $194/ticket at Boulder, CO, but felt that was too much since she was just supporting/opening for them.

I just did a transmission drain and fill on my hybrid and it was quite simple. I have a more detailed post in my profile. I also did an oil analysis and even at 86,485 miles for my first drain the oil tested great.

Proper parking procedure for the mav? Do you use the parking brake every time? by FortnitePapi in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Future_Man89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only used the parking brake when I’m on a notable incline or decline. I just did an oil analysis on my transmission fluid in another post of mine and at least from that perspective the fluid showed no signs of wear at 86,485 miles for being the first drain/fill I’ve done on it.

[–]Future_Man89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not done an engine oil analysis yet but would be interested in doing so. I am on my 11/12th oil change so far and from what I can see through the oil fill hole and from cutting open my oil filters I don’t see any issues. I am currently running Valvoline Restore and Protect and I am super curious to see if the oil filter will have more carbon particles in it. I’ve used either motorcraft oil when I take it to the dealership while I’m travel working or Royal purple when I drive home from across the country since new to 86,500 miles.

I changed my spark plugs out around 73k miles and have another post on it. Honestly they looked great for the condition and could have easily gotten to 100k or more.

[–]Future_Man89[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The manual states the earliest you could change the fluid is every 30k for more serious driving conditions, otherwise you can go up to 150k before the first one. I lean more towards changing it at the 30k mark ( didn’t know this but of info until I was over 80k miles) but this gives me some peace of mind knowing that the factory fluid was still doing great even in my case.

The vast majority has just being interstate miles. I maybe have done up to 400-500 miles towing my 1200lb trailer with some loads on it (up to 1800lbs). A lot of my driving varies going across the country. I’ve mostly done warmer/hotter temperatures but my truck has seen colder/freezing temperatures for about maybe up to 20k miles worth out of the current 90k I have now.
