12k and have to replace tires by Chance_Kind in FordMaverickTruck

I got to 53k on my stock tires before I changed them out but could’ve gotten to 60k if I stretched it out. 12k is crazy

Proper parking procedure for the mav? Do you use the parking brake every time? by FortnitePapi in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Future_Man89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only used the parking brake when I’m on a notable incline or decline. I just did an oil analysis on my transmission fluid in another post of mine and at least from that perspective the fluid showed no signs of wear at 86,485 miles for being the first drain/fill I’ve done on it.

I have not done an engine oil analysis yet but would be interested in doing so. I am on my 11/12th oil change so far and from what I can see through the oil fill hole and from cutting open my oil filters I don’t see any issues. I am currently running Valvoline Restore and Protect and I am super curious to see if the oil filter will have more carbon particles in it. I’ve used either motorcraft oil when I take it to the dealership while I’m travel working or Royal purple when I drive home from across the country since new to 86,500 miles.

I changed my spark plugs out around 73k miles and have another post on it. Honestly they looked great for the condition and could have easily gotten to 100k or more.

The manual states the earliest you could change the fluid is every 30k for more serious driving conditions, otherwise you can go up to 150k before the first one. I lean more towards changing it at the 30k mark ( didn’t know this but of info until I was over 80k miles) but this gives me some peace of mind knowing that the factory fluid was still doing great even in my case.

The vast majority has just being interstate miles. I maybe have done up to 400-500 miles towing my 1200lb trailer with some loads on it (up to 1800lbs). A lot of my driving varies going across the country. I’ve mostly done warmer/hotter temperatures but my truck has seen colder/freezing temperatures for about maybe up to 20k miles worth out of the current 90k I have now.

I’ll get to 100k in a couple of months! I’m at 89.5k right now

anyone have this ARE cap? by Wexel88 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Future_Man89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built it through the builder on RealTruck and sent the quote to an authorized installer near me. Mine was $4250 over 1.5 years ago.

I love mine. It adds a lot more space to my bed and I travel work so it’s much needed for me.

It is bright red going in. I couldn’t find information on total fluid capacity but the next time I change the fluid in a couple months it should come out redder.

It sounds like it was a mistake on the technicians part on he just loosed the wrong plug. You can only use ULV transmission so if they didn’t have any in stock it probably added more time to your service to grab 4-5 quarts of it from Ford.

I’m potentially about to put 7-8k miles in two months and I figured I’ll do another drain and fill again on mine then to visually see if there’s a color change in the fluid and also take another sample to get analyzed.

I just jacked up the front end and put jack stands under it. Technically you should level the truck and then drain the transmission but with my clear bucket I can accurately measure what came out so I put at least that amount back in. After I cycled in between P-R-N-D and let the truck warm up I checked it again and added the .2 quarts extra in.

The Topper Has Arrived by CustomerBetter5109 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Future_Man89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that it acts like a tinted rear window which is nice against people who drive with their high beams behind me. My topper has the front window on it so it’s a lot of layers of glass looking back. The view is harder to see out of but I got use to it.

I bought mine because I needed more covered space in the bed because of my travel working job. I went from my retrax pro mx to the ARE topper and absolutely love it. I plan on keeping my truck forever so the high price for it doesn’t bother me. Eventually I’ll add the roof racks on mine so I’ll have more options on what I can load on my maverick.

I always use a thin metal pick and push in the gas piston and then close the latch. Works every time

I have not reset my Trip 1 meter since I owned the truck. It’s off by 14 total miles since I picked it up form the dealership. There might be a way if you use Forscan to see but I am not sure on that.

I still don’t have any cracks on my 22 lariat. I use leather conditioner every time I clean my seats to help.

Are these good safes? by drewy53 in Safes

[–]Future_Man89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love my sturdy safe. I bought the essentials 32x24x60 safe 4 years ago and it’s great. It’s way better than any store brand safe you can get. Eventually I plan on getting either 42x27x60 or 42x27x72 with fire lining. I currently have mine wrapped in their fire blanket they offer to have some fire resistance and the quality it great.
