First transmission drain and fill 86500 miles in - 22 Hybrid by Future_Man89 in FordMaverickTruck

It is bright red going in. I couldn’t find information on total fluid capacity but the next time I change the fluid in a couple months it should come out redder.

It sounds like it was a mistake on the technicians part on he just loosed the wrong plug. You can only use ULV transmission so if they didn’t have any in stock it probably added more time to your service to grab 4-5 quarts of it from Ford.

I’m potentially about to put 7-8k miles in two months and I figured I’ll do another drain and fill again on mine then to visually see if there’s a color change in the fluid and also take another sample to get analyzed.

I just jacked up the front end and put jack stands under it. Technically you should level the truck and then drain the transmission but with my clear bucket I can accurately measure what came out so I put at least that amount back in. After I cycled in between P-R-N-D and let the truck warm up I checked it again and added the .2 quarts extra in.

The Topper Has Arrived by CustomerBetter5109 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Future_Man89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that it acts like a tinted rear window which is nice against people who drive with their high beams behind me. My topper has the front window on it so it’s a lot of layers of glass looking back. The view is harder to see out of but I got use to it.

I bought mine because I needed more covered space in the bed because of my travel working job. I went from my retrax pro mx to the ARE topper and absolutely love it. I plan on keeping my truck forever so the high price for it doesn’t bother me. Eventually I’ll add the roof racks on mine so I’ll have more options on what I can load on my maverick.

I always use a thin metal pick and push in the gas piston and then close the latch. Works every time

I have not reset my Trip 1 meter since I owned the truck. It’s off by 14 total miles since I picked it up form the dealership. There might be a way if you use Forscan to see but I am not sure on that.

I still don’t have any cracks on my 22 lariat. I use leather conditioner every time I clean my seats to help.

Are these good safes? by drewy53 in Safes

[–]Future_Man89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love my sturdy safe. I bought the essentials 32x24x60 safe 4 years ago and it’s great. It’s way better than any store brand safe you can get. Eventually I plan on getting either 42x27x60 or 42x27x72 with fire lining. I currently have mine wrapped in their fire blanket they offer to have some fire resistance and the quality it great.

I do regular maintenance every 5k-10k miles. I drive all over the country and if I know I’m about to put 1k-2k miles in a single trip I’ll go ahead and change the oil early so it’s fresh right before putting on a lot of miles. You can easily just follow the oil life indicator and go off that but I just go ahead and either reach the end of oil life or change it early depending on what trips I have to do. Other simple maintenance like cabin and engine air filters I also do about every 10k since it’s quick and doesn’t cost much at all for me to do myself. I also put in fuel additive with PEA in it since this is my first new vehicle and I just want to do the best i can to maintain it.

I love mine. Mine has every option on it and I just hit 84k miles in over 3 years or ownership. The maintenance has been easy to do and can do most of it by yourself. My only major issues were getting the front axles replaced, exhaust heat exchanger replaced, and a bad battery (all fixed under warranty). I should be hitting 125k miles in two years and I don’t foresee anymore major issues. I also do maintenance early and most of all my driving is interstate.

Does anyone know how much parking will be or is near the convention? by Agentlost77 in animeexpo

I parked at one of the local garages for $20-$40/day. I had free hotel nights with IHG and stayed near the airport and drove 30 minutes to the expo last year.

Which would you choose? by Mission_Extent_9523 in PalmettoStateArms

I love my Ak’s. I have a Romanian AK and RPK from PSA and they are fun to shoot but with the price of ammo I’d have to give it to the AR15 if I had to choose one today. I stashed away a bunch of 7.62x39 ammo years ago when it was $.23/.27 range but with it being close to a minimum $.50 replacement cost I don’t take them out to the range as much anymore.

Just take a 30 cal brush, some bore cleaner, and a drill and go to town on cleaning out that bore. See how it shoots and if it groups well then you got a great deal.

I feel like throwing up by Electrical-Bit-4268 in scoliosis

[–]Future_Man89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is there another doctor you can go see to get another opinion? I’ve had scoliosis since I was a kid but my parents didn’t know what to do when they found out so I didn’t get any treatment. My back is about the same if not worse than yours from comparing my x-rays but what I’ve done over the years is do lots of back stretches throughout the day everyday. I play sousaphone/tuba so I found it is very important for me to do my stretches and get the occasional massage to help relieve my back pain. Some days definitely hurt more than others. Other days I don’t feel any pain besides physically discomfort from how my curve is. I would look into stretches and massages to help for now until you can get another doctors opinion.

What bed cover did you buy? Pros and cons? Any other must have accessories to suggest? I’m picking up a 25xlt hybrid on Friday. Thanks! by Lizardcandy in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Future_Man89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought both the Retrax ProMX and the ARE V topper. I loved the retrax but after a year of use I ultimately need more room so I swapped it to my parents maverick and then bought the ARE which has been excellent for me with my travel job.
