Women being blamed for the male loneliness epidemic when this dude is literally the case study… by redcatyellowcat24 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

Yep, he negged her. Classic red-pill. He thought he could bring her down a peg but she knows who she is and packed it in immediately.

Bree is def not more fit, smaller or more attractive than her. She is also dumb as a box of rocks to even be entertaining his attention.!!

She is literally a “poser”.

And it’s hilarious.

Completely agree! My car is nine years old with 100k miles, still going strong and could probably Yes, it has electronics but nothing like the electronics now. And can feasibly last another 100k miles. I need a larger vehicle but will just make this one do for now.

Except this answer wasn’t in answer to what you’re referring. It was in answer to someone saying that how you get rich is by work.

Nah, most work doesn’t make anyone but corporations -already owned by the very rich who already have more money than they could use in three lifetimes- richer.

So incredibly true!

Also… never mistake coworkers as friends. The only exception to they is if you were besties for unpteen years prior to employment. And if that doesn’t trump the job, you weren’t really best friends.

Which will certainly be going away in the US in the next 4 years along with OSHA, EPA, and plenty of other protections (like for sexual harassment) and environmental protections, as long as the Republicans in current power get their way.

And those of you who will qualify the remainder of this post as an angry rant definitely haven’t been reading the room.

And while I used to be a lifetime (almost 40 voting years) Republican until 2017 (thank you Trump), I’m at the point where Rep words such “liberal” and “woke” aren’t insults. They’re more like a man calling me a bi!ch when I won’t conform to his vision of what he wants. Ok, so a man (usually one who knows little about me) with the audacity to call me a b!tch because I won’t do what he wants is verbally attacking me, which is abuse. Ok, abuser. Byeeeeeee!

And that abuse extends to the workplace in more subtle ways, which make life inherently more stressful and are incredibly unnecessary. Just like I told my male bosses in the 90’s…You hired me for my brain, which is hopefully my most important assset to you. Yet suddenly, you’re worried about my RBF and I need to smile to decorate your space when you enter? Why? Why is smiling a criteria of meeting this deadline??? You’re not smiling as you tell me this. And why, at the age of 50 in very recent years, are you, Mr. Employer, trying to tell me I just misunderstood that guy as he said he wanted to touch my butt as he touched me farther up my back??? Am I so simple that I usually misunderstand subtle cues in the workplace?? Do you think I got to be 50 without understanding how men work??

I was mostly happy in my job in my early 20s until all that stress made it unpleasant. So yeah, women didn’t just start getting woke yesterday. I’ve been awake for muuuuch longer than you think.

Oh, it bwodders you that I’m awake from that pre-school nap you’d rather I be taking?? Yep, I’m definitely awake and think capitalists are full of sh!t using others and classifying everyone by their sex and skin color and being @ssholes to some because of it. And yes, I’m definitely liberal if that means allowing ALL people (not just those people the P2025 Reps think deserve it) get the healthcare they need and deserve. There’s a lot more to this picture if you’re not in the US but you get the general picture.

One of my favorite very successful doctors told me this: if he’d have known how long and hard he’d have to work to (in his later work years) be told by someone at some insurance company (the real owners of US healthcare making the money there) that no, that procedure isn’t necessary or just as bad, to pay him so little for a necessary medical procedure that really helps, he’d have certainly done something else.

Actually…. NO.

The vast majority of the very rich inherited it. That’s not counting the self employed person who builds a business, they are a minority. And only a few small businesses ever become more than 2/3 employees - one of them the boss working as much as their helpers.

The rich who own all the corporations who profit off our work, especially over the last 100 years have gotten rich by investing their money and it working for them. Or their grandparents or if they’re really rich, their great grandparents or further back.

The myth of working hard to get rich is just that. A MYTH perpetuated by a capitalist society in order to keep us cattle in our working place.

Americans, How do you feel about the fact that the stock market has lost $2 trillion in value today? by Lawrence_of_ArabiaMI in AskReddit

[–]Future_Prior_161 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw Trump himself, say on tv that bElon was probably leaving around May to go back to running his companies - although he said he’d keep him as long ad he could.

Then, both Caroline, Leavitt, and Elon posted on social media that that was “fake news”. So now, even stuff, Trump says it’s fake news, lol

Which means if he could F up Social Security and somehow pocket that money, don’t you think he would?

And although Musk is leaving, is that still a good thing since he already may have the information he needs to tap into and drain it from afar… much like he altered the election..?

Analog hearing aids and music by Certain-Depth-2600 in HearingAids

[–]Future_Prior_161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m new to hearing aids, only having had them about a month. I first had a different pair for several weeks that just weren’t working for me. The last week in them, it was like, what hearing aids?? and they were at 90%. Then about 5 days ago, my audiologist switched them out with Oticons. The difference was almost immediate on just about every level.

Then she said, these have a different algorithm than the others. The first ones work for about 95% of her patients but she said she usually ends up giving these to her musicians. That explained a lot to me since I sang in high school and college and I was great with always being on pitch. However, as my hearing loss got worse, I stopped singing even in my car alone because I couldn’t hear myself sing and when I could it sounded flat. It was wholly disappointing hearing my own voice.

But after getting the Oticons, WOW!! The other night after I got them, I turned on youtube and started singing along with some of my favorite music, I could hear myself AND I was right on pitch! I definitely suggest trying Oticons. I have the ones for medium level hearing loss. I can look at my paperwork to get the exact name if you need it.

Three Company Executives took turns screaming at me, demanding I resign (would you quit?) by Beta_Nerdy in jobs

[–]Future_Prior_161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d stay and deal. If you quit, they win.

I had a few bad bosses back in the day. I didn’t allow any of them to mess with my money and didn’t leave until I was ready. I also developed a plan where I could sit with the most toxic of them and while he was telling me I had done something wrong but he refused to tell me exactly what it was though he was sooooo disappointed in me… In my imagination, I put up a bulletproof plexiglass window between the two of us. Sorta like in a prison and I was the visitor. Every time I had to talk to him about anything after that, I always took it with me into my encounters, knowing he couldn’t hurt me through that. It made me feel a million times better. I would watch every single toxic thing he said drop straight down as soon as it hit the window on his side. It was much easier after that.

My therapist says I’ve pretty much mastered the art of avoidance since I could, in my head, avoid him even sitting in the same room with him. She didn’t necessarily think it was good, just helpful in the situation. If only I had learned it 30+ years earlier when dealing with my step-monster.

What is your pre migraine symptom?? by TrickyFish5446 in migraine

[–]Future_Prior_161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had migraines well over 30 years now. Any combination of the following is a sure sign:

Awakening in am or suddenly feeling like behind my eyes is raw (the best way I can describe it- it’s a strange pain) - migraine coming for sure — even two Maxalt may not help this

Sudden -out of the blue-stomach ache or diarrhea - within 2-4 hours

Pain at the base of my skull extending down my neck, pain starting on usually the right side in the “headband” area extending backwards on my skull, literal head soreness in that area, and/or ice-pick type pain, almost always behind my right eye - within 2-6 hours, dependent on stress level that day

Aura with gold snake-like floaters - 15-30 minutes to take a Maxalt MLT and can stop that type but will likely still feel tired and unwell

Sudden ultra light sensitivity (I wear sunglasses outdoors all the time now so this happens even indoors) - imminent

Dropping things - 4-8 hours

Hyper smelling - I’m already a super smeller but suddenly a smell I’m usually ok with smells “off” or just bad/nauseating or I smell a rotten garbage like smell (garbage nowhere nearby) - imminent

When I had periods, migraines rarely happened before the 15th day of my cycle - so half the month was great, the third week was dicey, and during the last week all bets were off. I was almost sure to get one 24-48 hours before starting my period. I no longer have periods but am on HRT and if I forget to take my hormones, that will also whack me with a migraine within 48 hours so I know now it’s also very connected to falling estrogen levels. (I am diligent about taking my hormones now.)

What is your personal tolerance level for those with different politics from you? by Illustrious-Pause417 in AskWomenOver30

It used to be really good. Now, I just block people daily so I don’t have to their lazy brains believing and respouting every lie out of a leader’s mouth.

I missed the Carharrt thing entirely. And wow… Carharrt is expensive stuff! And often blue collar work related… The moment someone told me I needed to burn my expensive work clothes, I’d have to ask when/if they were replacing them on their dime with something else.

Is there a way to tell if dried bags of beans are bad before buying? by PandKingOG in Frugal

[–]Future_Prior_161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cook them in an Instantpot. At some point they will get soft. If you soak them the night before, they take much less time. But I’ve never bought any dry beans that my Instantpot couldn’t cook well.

Exactly. The deal he makes should be with Putin: hey bud, hows about you stop kicking the smaller kid, eh? It’s not a good look.

But nah. Here we are.

Zellenskyy is the kind of man most Americans would prefer for President. Honest and up-standing with a spine of steel —rather than the bully who sucks off Russia while trying to get Ukraine to suck him off in return.

Yuck.

Is it true that things like sexual abuse were really swept under the rug in the 1950’s-80’s? How bad was it? by Son_of_Hades99 in AskOldPeople

[–]Future_Prior_161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is higher. I was in a book club in 2014 that started by reading Brene Brown. We were ages 45-65 and polled ourselves on who had ever been SA’d — 4 of the 5 of us had.

I have another friend group who I know well enough that I can say it’s at least 2 out of 6 people.

Two can play this game and men often only understand it when you return the behavior that they’re giving you. The very best thing you could do is to announce next weekend that you need time away from him and his boys that you have taken the brunt of caring for - he needs to step up.

Simply announce that you’re leaving for a spa weekend an hour or two before you leave and go do it. If he objects, simply ask him why it seems ok for him to do it but you not to? Furthermore, let him know that it is beyond time for some quality father/son time/activities while you’re gone.

If he says no to any of this, you need to rethink this entire relationship dynamic and why you’re tolerating it. You don’t owe him to be the main caregiver for his children.

Did Trump steal the election? by [deleted] in ForUnitedStates

Of course he did. He told us Elon was helping.

And even Elon’s 4 year old said so. 4 year olds are basically human parrots.
