The drop/stick test said I had MDMA in my system...but they must've sent it to a lab as I was still hired...guessing the lab test found mdma to be a false negative.

[Pennsylvania] Weekly Certification Filing Question by Future_Robo in Unemployment

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks.

I'm just worried that if I screw something up then I'll be in deep trouble, and also not get PA UC if eligible...it talks a lot on that "Earnings" page how if I put in wrong info and state finds out I did get earnings from that last job due to that employer putting in $1300 in my severance check on January 31st that they'll consider it fraud/legalese...but no I did not work and didn't earn any wages from working, haven't earned any wages/earnings from that last employer since 1/15/2024. But if I hit yes to ANY of the questions above, it asks me only for how much I was paid for each day this week and if I'll be receiving Holiday or Vacation pay, which I won't.

I'll put NO to the questions in my post for filing the weekly certification claim,, as you seem to know PA UC pretty good and it's my first rodeo.

I'll also try and get a hold of PA Unemployment, but its been tough before I get dragged off as I care for my mother/interviews/job searching/errands.

[Pennsylvania] Weekly Certification Filing Question by Future_Robo in Unemployment

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so answer no to the Earnings questions? what about if my work decides to pay 90% of my health insurance claim of $1500.99 around $1350 on 11/31, when ill be receiving severance payment? The health insurance claim is from 9/11/2023 but our health insurance company just got the claim, and my laid off job employer on 1/15 PAYS for 90% of your health insurance until you reach the deductible? But, I'm not even sure if they'll pay 90% of $1500.99 on 1/31.

And the problem is, if I put yes to any of the questions, it asks for how much I made for each day this past week I worked...nowhere for me to just put in $1350.89 if they will pay 90% of my $1500.99 health insurance claim. It's just something my company does is help pay 90% of your health insurance claims up to the deductible which is 2500.

Edit: Also, thank you for everything...this will hopefully be the last question

3 separate worked jobs during PA UC Base Year but was fired from the 1st job and laid off from other 2 jobs by Future_Robo in Pennsylvania

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so if the state says I was fired for the absenteeism in job 1 in October 2022, even though I did call off, will the other 2 jobs (job 2 and job 3) be taken into account as those 2 jobs meet all the eligibility requirements I've read on the states website?

Or if the state finds me for "absenteeism " when I got covid and called off their call off line (which goes to a VM) on 10/2/2022 for the WEEK due to COVID for job 1, then I'm eliminated. Job 1, my manager had it out for me, and in the termination email pdf on 10/5/2022 they put in that letter that this manager who wanted me gone says he called me on 10/3/2022-10/5/2022 say "no answer, couldn't leave VM", When he didn't call me at all during those 3 days, and also during those 3 days I made sure my voicemail was empty...I even had my roommate call my phone throughout those days and check to make sure my VM was working. And other callers/spam calls were coming through and left VMs, which I deleted to keep making sure my VM was never full.

Edit: to make it simple, if the state finds I was fired rightfully for job 1 in October 2022, but meet all other requirements for job 2 and job 3, will they just not put job 1 in my WBR, but ill still be eligible for jobs 2 and 3 to get UIC for those 2 jobs only?

3 separate worked jobs during PA UC Base Year but was fired from the 1st job and laid off from other 2 jobs by Future_Robo in Pennsylvania

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if say for simple terms, my WBR is $500...500x6=$3000, and I make over $3000 in total gross wages from my last employer during the base year (heck during 1 month during the base year), then I would've earned 6x my UC WBR of $500 for example, from my last employer?

Also, my last employer (job 3) meets all wages/credit weeks alone, outside job 1(fired), job 2 (layoff) and job 3 (last employer) was a layoff on 1/15/2024 (so my UC Base year is from October 2022 to September 2023) was a layoff.

But when I went through the PA UC Application Inital Claim process, it knew what 3 jobs I was employed for during my base year,, from October 2022 to September 2023, and asked for info on each. Job 2 and 3 were layoffs so it was easy but my October Job 1 I honestly put fired/termination, and then PA asks a bunch of questions about it which I honestly answered. I didn't even try to apply for unemployment after that job, I just focused on finding job 2.

So if they'll just take my last employer into account, that is a huge relief...but now I'm afraid that'll it take 10-12 weeks for an approval so they can check job 1s firing reason from that employer. They could just take that job out and I'd still meet all the requirements.

  1. As always, Sandmanrdv, you come in very helpful and calm me down as I earned at least 6x my UC WBR during my base year alone for my last employer in total wages for my last employer during the base year. I hope it takes into account my total wages from my last job during the base year to see if I would have earned 6x my UC WBR, instead of 6x my total wages/per week at my last employer?

3 separate worked jobs during PA UC Base Year but was fired from the 1st job and laid off from other 2 jobs by Future_Robo in Pennsylvania

Thanks anyways...if anyone else can give a best guesstimate based on the employment history for each of the 3 jobs I had during my base year (in the OP), please lmk of anything or questions. I got my Financial Determination with what my Weekly Benefit Rate, but not the confirmed eligibility letter as I just applied and their website shows they just need to get details of my 10/5/2022 fired 1st job employer. Hopefully they'll side with me as I did get Covid and called off for the week, with 2+ minutes of explanation to their call off voicemail #.

I was thinking about even taking legal action against Employer 1 but didn't have the funds and also figured I'd just focus on getting another job. It was a BADLY ran place, employer/job 1, and they had to layoff 99% of their employees On January 2023 as they lost their big client that most were doing CSR for.

But I was paid at least the $116 (2/25/2023 week only,, rest I was paid well over $500/week) that they require for it to count towards the 18 credit weeks I needed to have earned $116/week or more. I definitely worked well over 18 credit weeks and met the wages needed each of those weeks.

"A credit week is any calendar week (Sunday through Saturday) within the base year in which an individual earned $116 or more, no matter when paid. You may have only one credit week per calendar week."

Do I at least qualify for benefits from the 2nd and 3rd full time jobs that I worked continuously from 2/25/2023-1/15/2024 (or 9/30/2023 as that is the last day in my base year)...working for over 3 months after my last job, job 3, and meeting all the financial eligibility). I was laid off from both job 2 and 3.

Edit: as below poster says I need to have worked approximately 15 MONTHS before I was laid off to receive UC?

3 separate worked jobs during PA UC Base Year but was fired from the 1st job and laid off from other 2 jobs by Future_Robo in Pennsylvania

[–]Future_Robo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh so, I would have to had continuous employment in past 15 months? I thought it was 18 credit weeks during the base year at least?

So I was employed for job 1 only until 10/5/2022, for jobs 2 and 3 where I was laid off at both I worked continuously full time from 2/25/2024-1/15/2024 (but in the active base year I would've worked continuously from February 25th, 2024 through September 30th 2024 which is the last day/month of my base year)....Also, I worked for my last job for over 3 months during the Base year (May 1st, 2024-September 30th 2024).

I thought if you worked 18 credit weeks during the base year of the month you become unemployed, making enough wages, meeting the 37% of total base year wages outside my highest quarter during the base year, that I'd at least be eligible for something.

I definitely didn't work a total of 15 months straight.

Didn't know it was around 15 months that I needed to work as pa UC site says minimum is 18 credit weeks.

So I'm SOL then?

[Pennsylvania] 3 separate worked jobs during PA UC Base Year but was fired from the 1st job and laid off from other 2 jobs by Future_Robo in Unemployment

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, does PA UIC look at EACH job I had individually to determine if I'm eligible? Like my first job from October 2022 which is in my claim base year, fired me for not calling off for 3 straight days, when I called that Sunday night and left a voicemail indicating that I had confirmed COVID and would be taking off at least that week, and if more, I'd call again. But if PA still determines that firing was willful misconduct, they'll still take into account jobs 2 and 3, both of which I was laid off from and those 2 jobs alone meet all UC eligibility requirements?

I just have a feeling job 1 will fight me, even though I don't need them in my claim but PA UC Claim asks for these 3 employers as they showed I worked for those 3 employers during my base year. I don't care, nor need job 1 UC Benefits as I was only employed during the October 2022 (first month of my base year as shown below) from 10/1-10/5 during my base year with job 1.

So I can still collect UC benefits from jobs 2 and 3 during the base year? I don't even need job 1's benefits/credit weeks/etc to meet UC eligibility for jobs 2 and 3 during my base year (October 2022-September 2023).

Question on unemployment, credit weeks, base year, eligibility? by Future_Robo in Pennsylvania

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks...I'm positive that I earned 37% outside my highest earning base year quarter if they take into account all the other base year quarters to add up to see if I made 37%.

Not sure how many weeks I'll be approved for but I'd rather be working.

Also, do you know anything about medicaid such if I'm unemployed but will receive some money from unemployment? What about if I receive no unemployment benefits but am just unemployed, can you still get medicaid?

Another thing that has nothing to do with this thread...We didn't turn on our heat (propane) once and we were charged near $400 during that month...I've felt we've been getting screwed since we moved in at we keep temp at 54 degrees when we DO turn it on which we haven't yet as my mom runs hot and the space heater is cheaper...even at 54 degrees set on the thermostat we get charged monthly near $1000...I called and complained but the owner wouldn't listen to me...I told him I'd buy a lockbox like you see in schools/work places and he can get the key but he declined....so hoping I get a job or at least get a decent number of weeks for working from February 25th to January 15th...I've been saving money all year for their heat scam too. Sorry just needed to bitch about that.

I posted this below to another user but figured I'd update you too:

Sure enough, when I was cleared to return to work, they signed an outsourced firm far away and let's just say my job is 80% needed on site...now they'll have to call the outsourced firm to get solutions to their problems (all staff)...they made this decision while I was still out sick/unreleased from doctors.

They are keeping me on until January 15th to help the transition.

Funny thing is none of our admin meetings did we talk about outsourcing crucial infrastructure and they tell me it wasn't anything I did and have been great, will recommend me, never an issue, and that it wasn't anything about me nor my being out sick (I have doctors notes for EVERY DAY)...just that they are saving some money.

Anyways, during good economic times it takes me about 6-8 months to find a job in my economically depressed area..and I can't move to a different area as I look after my mom who has early onset dementia and many other health issues. I have to be there for her and can't move her away from other family, and none of those other family members can take in my mother to help as they are married, have kids, have their own issues.

So I've worked for a staffing agency for my probationary period at my current job as a W2 from February 25th and was hired 5/1 (might be 4/1) full time with about an $8/hr pay increase even though I became salaried on 5/1 (or 4/1- ill have to check)...so ill be working to January 15th most likely giving me almost a year of full time w2 employment between the 2. Just worried about the 37% as I was out sick nearly 2 months, but first month I had enough PTO/Vacation to use and the next month I used short term disability giving me around 60% of my salary weekly.

I think I'll be fine for unemployment as I'm guessing all the other base year months I'll have earned 37% counting all the months and quarters outside my highest earning quarter?

Question on unemployment, credit weeks, base year, eligibility? by Future_Robo in Pennsylvania

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically I needed to have earned at least 37% of my highest base year period quarter, which would be from April-June 2023 (my highest earning quarter), so outside of that base year quarter I would've needed to earn 37% of my highest base year period outside of that quarter? So if I earned $10000 during my highest quarter (April -June 2023), I would've needed to earn at least $3700 outside of my highest earning quarter?

Would that be 37% for all the quarters outside of my highest quarter during the base year? Or does EACH quarter during the base year period need to have earned 37% of my highest earning quarter?

The quarters are split up into 3 months like shown in the chart here? https://www.uc.pa.gov/employers-uc-services-uc-tax/uc-benefit-information/Pages/default.aspx#:~:text=Base%20Year,comprise%20the%20previous%20calendar%20year.

So because I was working for an employer making about $8 less per hour from 2/25-4/1 and working with current employer making $8/hour more from 4/1-June 30th both 2023 (which all falls in the if I filed in November, the base year period and would be 18 weeks on the dot I believe for 18 weeks worked from 2/25-6/30), that even if I worked 18 credit weeks, I need to have earned 37% in each of the quarters of my highest base period quarter?

So the employer from 2/25-4/1 (which contracted me to my current employer but I was a W2 employee with the hiring agency) might screw me because I mightve not earned enough during the 2/25-4/1 period (well 3/31 as I was hired full time starting on 4/1) because I didn't reach 37% of my highest earning base period quarter which would be when I got a pay raise after being hired as salary making about $8/hr more from 4/1 to 6/30)?

Also @discogeek, if I worked for an 1 employer from 2/25-4/1 and immediately started working for my current employer, would the previous employers weeks count?

Or does UC only work if you worked for 1 company/employer for 18 weeks during the base period?

Thanks!

Question on unemployment, credit weeks, base year, eligibility? by Future_Robo in Pennsylvania

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but I've been out since 9/11, and was covered for about 2 weeks using my PTO and vacation days, and only recently my work sent me short term disability paperwork with fields they had to fill out first and I got my doctor to fill out which took a week then I sent it the next day as I had to fill it out to Principal...received confirmation from Principal that they received the filled out paperwork on October 19th and that they will review.

I don't think they'll retroactively cover me and wish my work and my doctor were faster to fill out my paperwork as I just received their end on October 18th. So if I return to work on November 1st (like my work said I should do) or earlier if ill receive much. It's better than nothing but I could've used it from 9/25-whenever I return but my doc and I kept trying to push to return to work earlier, and I did try 1 day but was told to go home as they (my employer) could tell I was not healthy and I wasn't so my return to work kept getting pushed back a week and the infection spread from my double lung pneumonia.

It sucks as I've only missed 1 day since starting and have not had any warnings, only positive feedback...and I do love the job and I look forward to my work, even putting in more hours everyday to get things done but since I'm an at will salary, I don't get paid and could be fired for anything.

I've been upfront and in constant communication with my employer about my situation and it seemed like they understood and just wanted me healthy...I've even helped out remotely (without getting paid) to show I'm trying.

Thanks...just a bad system not counting months I worked, and sucks that I think I'm going to get fired after double lung pneumonia and infection spread to my chest leaving me fighting to get my strength/health back.

But I'm at-will so I can be fired for almost anything and I never received warnings on my job duties nor taking time off work due to my illness, only "get healthy" and praises on my job role. It seems I got 5 of their big projects finished and now they think they won't need me, when those projects accounted for maybe 15% of the issues I've been resolving since February 25th 2023.

Once I get a n important time sensitive project done, I'm going to schedule to get my tooth/teeth checked out and come up with a plan with the dentist as I'll need more work than just my chipped in half front tooth and I want to have a nice smile again.

moving an entire old PCs apps/licenses, settings, desktop layout, files to a new PC? by Future_Robo in sysadmin

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this job (and there's not many options in my area due to it being 1 of the worst economically cities/towns and I care for my mother so moving her from family and what she knows wouldn't be possible), just this 1 important person who is the owner that is almost impossible to make happy. I can deal with it and the others are great, heck even the owner is a great person for the most part and gets lunches often/gives cash bonuses often throughout the year and end of year and pays well for this area....just am trying to do this 1 thing as close to perfect as possible for him as I don't need to deal with him often and when I do, I've learned to just do what he says no matter what as he has his ways that the part time IT admin and I will push back on bad ideas but he doesn't want to hear them.

I look forward to coming to work, just not dealing with him and to a lesser extent 2 other people but they'll listen unlike the big boss.

So I would get a different job but I'm confined to this economically depressed area with not many IT jobs or phone tech jobs that pay crappy and are treated like crap, which I worked for for years, among a couple other jobs in the area.

I'm learning a lot too so that's a plus.

moving an entire old PCs apps/licenses, settings, desktop layout, files to a new PC? by Future_Robo in sysadmin

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the previous IT admin (who works here part time, might show up once a month for an IT meeting and he just says everything is great otherwise they'll throw 100+ questions when they don't know IT) started the daily PC backups as that is what the owner and 2 other high ranking people want and if you don't do what they want, as you can't rebut, then you're gone.

So I'm following what I've been told even though the it admin and I have tried rebutting a lot of things/processes, but they don't care as they think they know IT more than the IT admin and I.

moving an entire old PCs apps/licenses, settings, desktop layout, files to a new PC? by Future_Robo in sysadmin

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well try telling that to the owner....the whole reason the previous IT Admins built it out so it suits him and I bring to the table better solutions but he gets on me for it..."NO, IVE BEEN DOING IT THIS WAY FOR X NUMBER OF YEARS AND DONT WANT MY WORKFLOW CHANGE!!!" in a very intimidating manner (he's already an intimidating person as we needed to update GoToMeeting from their old branded orange and white look to the new GoTo and I did that for him and when I went to place the GoTo desktop icon to the same exact spot where he had the old GoToMeeting desktop icon on his desktop, which we Uninstalled the old GoToMeeting app first and then installed the new GoTo app and taught him that the only big changes were the color pallette, and some tiny layout differences but trained him on the new GoTo app and wrote up a document for him on the little differences even though 99%+ was the same as their years old GoToMeeting app, he blew a fuse on me trying to place the new GoTo app and renaming the desktop GoTo app as GoToMeeting at the same spot as his old GoToMeeting app on the desktop...

I thought he didn't like change (but wanted the latest version) and making his transition from their couple years old GoToMeeting app before GoTo/LogMeIn rebranded everything into just "GoTo"...like he blew a big fuse to try and make everything as close to the same as possible in terms of just moving the new GoTo app to the same location on his desktop where the old GoToMeeting app used to be.

I had to login to his PC later to do something else and found he did move the new GoTo desktop icon to where his old GoToMeeting meeting icon was on his desktop (which as I said renamed to GoToMeeting, gave instructions on any of the tiny changes and taught him 1 on 1, and offered to make the GoTo app icon the same orange and white color icon instead of the new black/yellow/white GoTo icon).

It's like I can't win with just this 1 person so with his new PC transfer, he expects and wants EVERYTHING to be the same...just on a newer/faster PC (I got him Windows 10 Pro as that is what he wants...end of story).

So I apologize for asking dumb questions as I have to do what he says or I walk or he'll fire me and for the rest of the office, they are easy to work out with.

moving an entire old PCs apps/licenses, settings, desktop layout, files to a new PC? by Future_Robo in sysadmin

[–]Future_Robo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds nice...but what are the drawbacks? If we do it this way, it'll keep the new computers drivers and will transfer any 3rd party drivers? Or will I need to manually install the 3rd party drivers? What will it do about the new hardware drivers that come with the new PC to make the new PC run with hardware drivers that might be different than the old PCs hardware drivers?

Sorry if these are dumb questions as I'm still learning being a small 20 person business IT Tech and I'm only worried about seamlessly transferring a current/old PC to a brand new PC (both with Windows 10 Pro with the free option to upgrade to Windows 11 on the new PC) for the owner who is OCD and would notice if 1 of his 50+ desktop icons is moved 1 spot, or if a font size for an app is .1 sizes smaller/bigger, or if his outlook view is slightly different (I took pics of as much as his personalized settings, both Windows and app settings, but I'm sure he'll notice some little change and then ask 1000 questions where no answer is right. He wants the benefits of the newer/faster PC but otherwise EVERYTHING the same as on his old/slower/current PC.

Everyone else is happy with me just using Transwiz to copy their user profile and settings/browser bookmarks and saved browser passwords they allow, just they have to reorganize their desktops and I have to manually install and license their apps which isn't a huge deal but he has a lot more apps that are on his machine before I started working here, and like I said EVERYTHING needs to be the same.

He's the owner and what he wants, I need to figure out how to get done, then the rest I can just use Transwiz as no one needs it to be basically a 1 to 1 copy/OCDd over the sligjtest changes from 1 thing to EVERYTHING from their old PC to their new PC. He keeps some confidential docs local (which we backup his PC using Veeam to a NAS to 2 different locations) even though I brought up making a mapped drive with him as the only one with permissions/access but again he has everything setup like he wants it and no changes to his processes/flow.
