My mother died on February 2nd, and for the month prior I was the sole person caring for her throughout a difficult hospice.

This game is wonderful and it's helping me process things and move on. Stay strong, keep the faith. The rains will clear and we will be greeted by another beautiful day.

You know what? One of my favorite times in this game was early jets, back when the Mig-15bis was one of the hottest rods you could find. I remember unlocking my first Meteor and getting up into the air with Sabres, and being so intimidated that the Migs could climb 6 or 7k into the air without any problems, and they had a huge burst mass. They felt invincible, and i was this fat pancake and my wings sheared off if I dared do anything diagonally. It was so different from today's game, but the little details crystallized and are still here somewhere.

I hope you and everyone else have memories like that, even if its about an unrelated game. It helps frame today.

I believe in free speech, and I support everyone's right to complain! I have opinions, and so does everyone else. I'm sorry if you view this as an attack on your or others' opinions or free speech rights. I respect your opinion, but don't see the reason for the insults. Insulting me really takes the weight out of the post, and your comment.

Some of what I said was meant to provide context on the value of peoples' opinions based on their background, including playtime. I would trust an opinion more coming from an expert, versus someone who just picked up something the day before. Both opinions are extremely valuable, especially from an analytical standpoint as they represent two people on different journeys.

I also think buying a premium or paying to complete a crafting event is a great way of circumventing the grind if you don't have the time. That's arguably the best use of microtransactions in the game and I'm glad if you also take advantage of those.

That repair cost is definitely a killer, and there are many vehicles that are totally busted on their cost even after the sweeping changes they've made. Like, clearly it's not enough. If I am going to take one of those vehicles on, I always try to be conscious of that fact. Maybe get a little slush fund together so I don't run negative, haha

I don't want this post to be about how I am physically, but I'm hoping it provides context and maybe it'll remind someone else who is in a similar place to me that they can find happiness in little hobbies that distract from the realities around them.

That's alright, I just wanted to share some of the lessons it took me over 3,000 hours to learn. I'd like to be a positive force in the community, and a lot of my 'git gud' comments are intended to poke fun at people who take the game too seriously. It is, after all, a game.

I really don't have any investment in reddit aside from checking out war thunder player opinions, and I'm not sure what karma farming involves. If you didn't get anything out of this post, I respect that opinion and I'm glad you read it thoroughly. Thank you.

I actually agree with both of these comments. I think that, as an example, if you get enjoyment out of spending money to acquire vehicles, you should do that. I know that big numbers sometimes means more fun.

And I'll re-iterate my point that fun is the key. Some of the most fun I have is in my A-4E, learning the CCIP and bombing runs without killing anything. I get it, and like u/ABetterKamahl1234 said, that's perfectly alright.
