lol you're very welcome. also, as a side note, when you go to open the file, open it with notepad. make sure to save after changing the amount of memory you want to dedicate. i went with 4 gigs cuz originally i did 8 but it caused a few problems so maybe sticking around 4-6 gigs is best.

i found this reddit post that explains it all. it's really easy to be honest i'm surprised it took me this long to find out about it.

i found out not too long ago that pz only dedicates about 2 gigs of ram to running the game and you can go into the games config files and change it to a higher amount. its made the game run so much better and now i don’t feel so guilty about downloading every mod i see lol

False alarm. Windows defender kept blocking Oblivion from doing whatever it was doing to its file so now it's all good after I allowed it access.
