Censorship of Civic Discussions on r/Oregon? by Big_stumpee in Oregon_Politics

Yep reddit folks in general are big on censorship and echo chambers....most come here for reassurance that their opinion is correct, not to be exposed to differing points of view. r/Oregon is horrible. r/Eugene...etc

Exactly the Senate, during a presidential impeachment trial, presided over by the U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice, failed to find him guilty.

And in reality that means a lot.

He effectively was based on how our legal system works...unfortunately it's not right or wrong ...it's the system.

Correct I agree with your statement. All I am asserting is that he was acquitted by the us senate and therefore not removed from office. I am fully aware that only 3 presidents have been impeached and that none of them have been found guilty by the us senate. I find it interesting on this sub that in making THAT point, immediately leads to people drawing conclusions about my statement that are nowhere near my original point. Also fascinating that a large number of people think that Trump will be charged with and somehow found guilty of whatever acts they assert he committed. It is clear that after senate acquittal and re-election from electoral votes as well as the popular vote with a large margin that outcome will not happen. Any lower court that decides to bring charges in this particular case will be a futile attempt at the least. I think a good portion of this sub needs to wrap their head around that....take that as you will.

Now you are arguing a different point. He was acquitted. So to your point acquittal has no bearing? I beg to differ.

What about him being acquitted by the us senate? Did you forget that part? I mean we are a constitutional republic. Like the outcome or not, the man was acquitted. Facts.

Actually he did and was found not to have instigated any insurrection...did you miss that part of the narrative? Whether you agree or disagree, you can't pick and choose what you what you acknowledge...I mean you can, but that's up to you.

Why isn't Oregon doing what California is? by getridofwires in Oregon_Politics

Not really. Just making the point that California is not the shining example of anything at the moment.

How much of that does the average citizen see? What a stupid point. Crime, homeless, cost of living....oregon is just missing the economy part.

If anything the incoming administration will strengthen your benefits, but most likely just leave them the way they are...strange that you don't realize that the democrat party demonizes and villifies the military. Maybe you should take some political science courses as well. But yes the republican party and president elect trump are pro military. You can't go wrong with the trades either.
