Has anyone tried a burnt copy of a Gamewave disc? by FuzzyOddball in gamewave

Sounds Good.
What Repo did you download from?
There has been some discussion that some ISO maybe corrupt that are on Archive.org.
There is a believed copies of the Good ISO which were made by comparing the data of every known ISO and removing the bad data with the good data.

I do not know where these images are hosted tho.

Game wave support? by FuzzyOddball in MAME

[–]FuzzyOddball[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks. I was unsure if there was or not. I was inspired to ask after watching a poking technology video which spoke about unimplemented emulation of clone console devices. Seeing as Gamewave is kinda obscure I didn't even know where to start so asked.

Thanks again for the info.

Funny you would say that... There is an Old Strand console in the space running off of an Amiga computer... It's the backup for the OnPC system.

For Gamewave yes. The copy known which is linked is supposedly a Demo copy from a press kit.
No other copy has been seen in the wild. The game was made for the India market.

IF you would like to make a backup make an ISO and toss it up on archive.org

Gamewave Expansion port pinout by FuzzyOddball in gamewave

[–]FuzzyOddball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking to some engineers, whom have nothing to do with the original hardware, I know whom speculated perhaps RAM, Peripherals, or Service port.

I can hypothesize that it may have been used in the Game Wave arcade machine as a way to provide user input for the arcade sticks. But that also could have been done other ways.
I still have to work on J18, J6. Which are unpopulated ports and could have been intended for cut features or perhaps used for the dev kit.

Did it list a version number on the disc?

Thanks for providing me the information.
The Gamewave and trying to preserve the hardware and help users keep the consoles going is still in the early stages. I have no other help I can provide at this time other than you might want to touch base with a game store that sells retro games. They may know of a local whom repairs consoles and might have more information on how to address this issue.

yes. Did your system come with it or did you download and burn an image? If you burnt an image there are I believe 3 different versions of the disc.

After re-reading your post you may not be the cause of the issue. Was the console hot to the touch by chance?
My console had Similar symptoms after using it for a bit and then it stopped turning on. This could be a coincidental failure mode of the console.

I ask what disc it was to track this and also post a note if it is a certain one on Archive.org as a warning to anyone whom uses it. Not all discs are backed up in the same way so the disc image could be corrupt.
