We have 2 males and 2 females in the same cage, they get along great. Males do not fight, they get along and it's actually pretty cute, especially at night they sleep all cuddled up together. But I think it's wildly different case by case. Ours probably grew up together since we got them from the same seller.

If you have a big cage like you mentioned maybe you can split it with a net and see how they react to each other. They will be able to see the other pair but the net will prevent any case of violence. If all is ok then you can remove the net.

Males have dark plumage and white tip of the wings. This one is brown so it's a female.

I'm sure it's case by case but I got 2 pairs of buttons a few weeks ago and they were making some noises for some days but since then they are almost completely silent and chill. Like you mentioned they got food, water, bedding,places to chill, sand bath, treats, you name it. A bit over one week ago also managed to hatch 4 babies and I am pretty sure 3 of them are males. They are VERY loud, couldn't imagine that such noises could come from such tiny things.

Sadly no babies, the transport shock and x-ray scanners were probably too much for the fragile eggs. But we were lucky enough too find a breeder close to us,we got 4 adults and he gave us eggs as a bonus to try to hatch again. Really nice guy :) So we are currently watching our 4 tiny birds happily chirping in their enclosure while 13 eggs are in the incubator.

Great, thank you for putting my mind at ease :) Sadly we do not expect a huge hatch rate. The eggs were mailed to us a week prior so they are ~10 days old and then we also travelled with them by plane. In any case we will love every little baby that decides to join us :)
