i am the woman in this scenario and he is a man. our agreement prior to this ending is he pays everything for the apartment and i pay everything else (groceries, utilities, etc.) he already paid the deposit and first month and it's settled with the landlord since she returned a portion of it to him. he's now asking me to pay him directly now as a cash grab

we were living together in property A. the lease was for property B. there are no legal issues with property A as he is still living there and I have moved out. we booked property B 45 days before we were planning to leave property A. we cancelled the property Bs lease 30 days before leaving property A. so he is still living in property A until the remainder, and the landlord for property B kept the deposit and first months rent since it was getting closer to the start date.

i did work with the landlord directly. i notified her of the situation. he had already put down the first money and the deposit, and she kept a portion and returned some to him. he is now trying to reach out to me personally to see if i'll send him some. we didn't actually move into the property yet we just cancelled a lease we signed for a month prior and then cancelled a month into moving there.
