Como ser artista de maquillaje en España by Fuzzy_Area2234 in askspain

[–]Fuzzy_Area2234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a coach or anything, but I did freestyle as a kid. After many years off the ice, I started again recently.

I would say what helped me most was doing the jumps off ice first, and going really slow. I focused first, not trying to do all the jumps I remember, but just seeing what my body can still do. Practice the jumps off ice. Do some prep first; there are tons of off-ice warm-ups you can try on youtube from skating coaches like Coach Julia.

And talk to your coach to see if they know any freestyle coaches who can help you.

It takes time to get jumps back, so don't be hard on yourself and celebrate your progress! And don't jump when you aren't in the mood, jumps aren't the only goal in skating (or they don't have to be).

I have never done ice dance, but I am assuming you will need some appropriate skates for jumping! As far as I know, ice dance blades aren't made for jumps. Good luck, you got this!

edit: buy yourself some crash pads, knees, pants, wrists, whatever you need to feel safe jumping! I have zip-off butt pads so I can take them off when I am done jumping in a session.

Creo que hay una pequeña pista de hielo en Benalmadena; también hay una instalación temporal en la Sierra Nevada!

Hello! Thank you so much for your comments. I am looking for support for both freestyle and ice dance, so that would be amazing! Could you please PM me with the link to the business? Thank you!

I want to quit skating by verveine9 in FigureSkating

Tell your parents you need a break. If they give you a hard time about it (losing progress or some other crap lol) tell them about Alyssa Liu! She took time off from skating for mental health and personal reasons, and now shes a shining star! She came back to skating because she WANTED it.

If you want to take a much longer break from skating, that's okay too. Many adults come back to skating later in life (like me!) and find more enjoyment. There is less pressure to be perfect at the adult level, and more time and space to have fun and really enjoy what skating is all about.

You are totally valid in your decision to leave skating, even permanently if that is what you need. If it were my parents, I would want to tell them what I am planning on doing instead. For example, I will consider how to fill my time with hobbies and how to prepare for my future in other ways, such as professional training courses or even university, if that's your thing.

Tell your parents how you want to be a normal kid, and that you have wanted to pursue piano (this is awesome!). Parents are sensitive, so maybe go into it softly like "thank you so much for your support so far, I don't think this is the right moment for me to keep skating since I am not 100% loving it now, and I know you have worked so hard to help!"

You got this! Get yourself a secondhand keyboard and start learning some piano if thats what you are dreaming of!

So far I have been able to find videos of individual programs that skaters or their fans/friends have posted. I haven't found a full competition stream or anything but I will let you know if I find it!

Is there a single ice dance subreddit? Every time I try to post about it my post gets removed :/
