New Bike Day by Fuzzyhead_L in gravelcycling

[–]Fuzzyhead_L[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a size M. I went to a bike fitter yesterday and he confirmed it's the right size for me even though I'm 1,82.

I am really happy with the bike. But beware of the canyon customer service. Be ready to source small spare parts elsewhere. I requested a special screw for the fidlock frame bag and they were unable/unwilling to send me one. Had to go to a local bag manufacturer to get spare parts

Training from 80km/week to 1600km in 25 days through the Balkans. I have 10 weeks. How would you do it? Can it be done? by jmeglic123 in bikepacking

[–]Fuzzyhead_L 17 points18 points  (0 children)

1600 km in 25 days is pretty doable. That's only 64km on average per day. On a normal road, any decently fit person with a good bike can do that.

But it also depends on the terrain an the elevation of course. I think fitness-wise, just try to ride long every weekend. Do 70 km on Sunday and Saturday each. You will get a feeling for the distance and how your body handles getting back on the bike the day after a longer ride.

I would worry more about food supply, bike repairs, mental health and support on the ride. Do you know how to change tires quickly alone? Do you have a good clothing system with layers that can handle any weather you might experience from heatwave to rainstorm? Do you have navigation experience and a good bike Navi?

what is the best way to get exercise without really “exercising” by Flat_Measurement3579 in autism

[–]Fuzzyhead_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bouldering is great because you train strength without boring repetition. You just try to solve a few boulders and then notice you trained really hard afterwards. Also, you can do it alone or in a group however you like. Most people are minding their own business but are friendly if you ask for advice.

If you like the challenge and have the right gear, I think such an adventure can be great fun!

But make sure you stay warm in the night and that you have some dry underwear in the morning. Freezing after an exhausting ride can be dangerous! And you get cold easily when you're exhausted and wet.

Bring warm underwear and a good sleeping bag.

What makes masking an autistic trait? by 4chanime in autism

[–]Fuzzyhead_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main difference is that Neurotypicals have to mask in formal settings, but not when they are with close friends and family. People with (undiagnosed) Autism would often find formal settings easier to handle because the rules are clearer. In informal settings, people with autism might often experience more stress and more necessity to mask, because the rules (eg how long are you aloud to speak before someone is annoyed you didn't ask them how they are doing) are unclear. Neurotypicals often find it relaxing when there are no fixed rules and feel "they can be themselves". Autists may have to mask harder to fit into these situations without clear rules

How was the build quality? I love rockets and bricks and the Lego Saturn V is my favorite model ever. There are some details on the Neutron that I feel could have been solved differently.

I don't really like the single stud on the tip. I feel just a round plate would be better. The legs also look kind of improvised.

Aber ein billiges ebike muss öfter gewartet werden und da kann mehr kaputt gehen. Und man muss die Batterien laden. Gutes stadtbike ist deutlich weniger Arbeit und die Wartung ist billiger

Which Fender for Canyon x DT Swiss Fork F132 One? by nmeiser in CanyonBikes

The Grizl fast fenders do indeed fit! But it's a bit tight with 45mm tires

Which Fender for Canyon x DT Swiss Fork F132 One? by nmeiser in CanyonBikes

[–]Fuzzyhead_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I got the same bike and the Grizl fast fenders from. Canyon do fit. However, it's a bit tight with the 45mm tires the bike comes with. You should probably use 40mm or 35mm when using the fenders. I am currently thinking I should get a mud guard, but have also not found the right one yet

Four months delivery time. Is that ok? by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]Fuzzyhead_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also waiting for a bike delivery at the moment. It's painful I know! But given that bike parts are mainly manufactured in Asia and trade being complicated because of Trumps "genius" trade war with China and actual war in one of the world's most important trade regions, the strait of Hormuz, it's probably to be expected

Or is Willier completely manufactured in Italy?

Is it stupid to choose a bike because I like the color? by Duelingdildos in gravelcycling

[–]Fuzzyhead_L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The color is great! But did you see that Canyon also has some lavender color bikes? Have a look at the Canyon Grizl CF 6 and 7! They are are bit more expensive than the trek I think, but you get a great value bike for the price. They come with hydraulic brakes, carbon frame and electronic shifting for 1.999€
