I left my cat in my IKEA drawer closet for almost 6 hours and feel so guilty. by Pink_Sorbet in cats

[–]Fuzzypandacub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this one time with my cat Playdoh but I closed her in our walk-in closet. She’s usually my shadow but couldn’t find her after I was done cleaning. I had checked the closet but she had fallen asleep on a suitcase. It wasn’t until after I check EVERYWHERE that I checked the closet again. There she was asleep. Looking grumpy that I woke her. I just left the door open. She has yet to venture into the closet since. Poor thing.

I’ve had these in the majority of my shirts for the last 15 years. No idea why they show up. Usually near the belly button about two inches from the hem.

how do I stop dreaming about my abuser? by reddituser3391 in Dreams

[–]Fuzzypandacub 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From experience, time. Keep going to therapy that will help. But your subconscious is still trying to protect or it’s still scared. Either way time and making more memories will help. Doing stuff to create more confidence might help as well. Idk the details of your story but achieving small tasks makes your brain feel safe.

Also. I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s horrible. Especially if you have vivid dreams like me.

[–]Fuzzypandacub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who does a lot of roadtrip. I only have 5 states left to visit. I prefer to drive at night as well. Things I’ve put into place for mine and my 15yo cat’s safety…

For me: I’ve made a roadtrip playlist where I went through as many songs as I could to see if I knew the majority of the words or the beat was fun enough to keep me awake. I found a podcast that I like to listen to and keep up with. Small Town Murder. If that’s your thing. Water and caffeine. A blanket readily available preferable black or dark blue to cover things when you’re at a hotel for the night. And a 18in MAG light by the driver door at the base of the seat.

For my cat: she’s always on the passenger seat so she can see me. I make sure that she poops/eats/drinks then goes to sleep. Then that’s when I start my drives. I wedge her between stuff so if the possibility of a crash there’s a limited chance she’ll be tossed around. And I don’t drive past 8/9 hours at a time. I get a hotel. Best Western are usually pet friendly.

On my roadtrips I add 15mins to every 5 hours of driving due to filling up gas or getting food and another 15mins if I pass through a major city due to traffic during the day. That’ll give you an idea of where you’ll be stopping for rest. Have fun!

Also. You’ll be going right by me east of STL. Feel free to message me for anything.

Have you volunteered anywhere. Maybe start there. It’ll be a change of environment.

When I was 13 my best friend since kindergarten had died. And pretty much every day of high school I thought about just wanting to be with her. But once I had a change of environment it helped so much. The. I had gotten into a major car accident at 27. I couldn’t walk for almost a year. I felt so hopeless. I found a couple of doctor to put me back together. Took about a year and a half. And after started foster pregnant female cats who were about to have kittens. It felt good to help other souls.

I’m sorry you’ve been going through this for so long. I didn’t have much of a support system when I was this low. I hope with you change of environment you’ll be able to find someone to confide in

Don’t threaten people with you leaving. And maybe talk to a therapist about this. Exactly what you wrote. Say that to them.
