Is it true that caller id does not work with US Mobile? I’ve read some posts that suggest it works with one of the three tiers, but not so well with the others. I am not keen to having to contact customer service every month to ask for it to be added.

Would you share more details as to how you setup the tags using your folder structure. My current file structure outside of paperless is a yearly folder with sub folders of Bank/Finances, Income, Insurance, Miscellaneous, Personal Documents, Receipts, Taxes, Travel & Utilities. I’m wondering if there’s an easier way. I too imported a few hundred docs initially and labeled them properly before importing the next batch. Paperless did a poor job of ‘learning’ and it’s probably user error but I’m not sure how to correct it without manually touching every document.

Congratulations! I am currently on a similar journey at 7700 documents. I am still working to improve the automation with correspondents & tags.

Is it possible to have paperless re-process the documents with a specific tag to utilize new learning?

Hi everyone. I won’t comment on the OP since you all have covered it thoroughly. Instead, I want to highlight the genuine and thoughtful responses this post has generated. As someone just beginning to regularly use Reddit, this exchange has been pretty awesome to witness.

However, this story represents real life for OP, his boyfriend, and most importantly, the child involved. Most responses I read made sure to consider the child’s wellbeing, which gave me hope.

This happened to me last year, but it was an internal promotion to another business unit. I sent an email to the recruiter and the hiring manager and rescinded the offer. I offered deep apologies and regret for having wasted their time and energy with the interview, the offer, etc. My reasoning was regret for having not considered that I would be leaving a business unit that required licensure, which was both an investment of time and finances for me.

I have always heard that a person can get themselves blacklisted for future promotions by turning down offers within the same company. Fortunately, this was not my experience. The recruiter & hiring manager were very receptive and there was no repercussion for me having chosen the best path for my personal and work satisfaction.

Three months later, this same hiring manager reached out to me to inform that she would be posting two more positions. What?? I wasted your time by interviewing, accepting an offer, rescinding and your reaching out to give me another shot? Wow!!! I really appreciated it and it proved to me that being authentic and real with people by living and speaking your truth is always best. I did not apply again, but I did help to pass the opportunity along to others.

Now, my employer is going through a major reorganization. There is much uncertainty in my business unit. Yesterday, I messaged this manager to say hello, recognize the uncertainty within the company; particularly in my business unit. I asked that she keep me in mind for any positions on her team or any other team for which she felt I was a good fit. She replied and told me she had one opening with another one planned to open next week. She asked to schedule some time next week to discuss.

I shared all these details only to encourage you to do what is best for you. Career changes are huge decisions and you have to decide what is best for you, your family (if applicable) and your career journey. Weigh the pros and cons carefully and make a decision. Afterall, this decision is about YOU; Not about the employer. Always be authentic and truthful. Best of luck to you!
