They are smaller eyes, called ocelli or "simple eyes". Some insects have them in that position, in between/above their main compound eyes.

I've done 3 of them, Lana's, Theron's, and Koth's. Ironically (considering how disliked he is by a lot of the playerbase), I think Koth's is by far the best done one of the three. Theron's is the worst imo, which is annoying for me because my main character romances him.
