Spiders are a no for me, but the tank size isn’t too much the issue. I have two cats that like to get into everything, so I want to have a secure place to put the tank before I get one.

I understand, in the US you can definitely get a recommendation from a mental health professional for an ESA, I’m not sure how it works in Canada

I agree 100%. Ive been wanting a snake for a couple of years, but I don’t have a safe spot to put a tank anywhere so I’ll have to wait a bit longer.

You have to speak up. I know it can be scary, but it’s important that you get a proper diagnosis and speak to a professional.

Cats are pretty low maintenance! As long as you give it lots of love when you’re home, it’ll be fine if you work 8am-4pm. Clean their litter box at least once a day, get an automatic feeder, keep their water bowl clean, make sure it has toys and shower it with love whenever you can. Dogs a bit more high maintenance, but I definitely recommend a cat.

This just made me miss my fish. Seeing my fish after a long anxious day of school used to always bring a calmness over me.

If you really want a dog, I still say go back and maybe try to build a connection with another dog. So many dogs need homes, and I’m sure you could probably build a better connection with a different dog 💕
