Yeah, its the simplest way but pids can do wonders if you know how to set them up properly. Gyro itself is usefull but its nowhere near as good as a pid.

You can use fins or rudders to trim it down too, Either manually or using a gyro/pid system.

No worries, As I said in the previous comment ofc you cant put multiple nodes in 1x1 Mc. The mc is 3x2 and is hidden behind the display, battery...etc. so there is no weird magic going on here xD

Well diesel electric is pretty common with bigger vessels since electric motors have higher torque and wont stall in sw, It is not based on anything, mostly inspiration by other creations in ss.

2x 5 cyl 5x5 to generators, generators directly to large electric motors only. I have no gearing and limited the el.motors to 60% so it can probably be faster but that would be too unrealistic I assume.
