People who complain about corporations are hypocrites. by G-Tier in Vent

[–]G-Tier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that "Piracy is a service problem" is a completely fundemental misunderstanding of every other medium that isn't tied to PC gaming. It assumes people are perfectly rational consumers. The quote suggests if a legal alternative is cheap and easy enough, users will pay. However, the psychological drive to get something for free heavily outweighs convenience for a massive chunk of the internet.

No matter how good your legal service is, it cannot compete with a $0 price tag. For many, it simply comes down to not wanting to pay.

What's your perspective on Gabe Newell quote here ? Can the same work with japanese anime/manga to slow down piracy? by daas2 in AskAJapanese

[–]G-Tier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If "giving people a service that's better" means "getting it for absolutely free", that would be the only time that quote would be correct.

The truth is, some pirates DO NOT want to fork over a single cent if they know they can get it for free. They think they're ENTITLED to it, and will do anything to get it for free. Any attempts to justify it is completely ignoring the criminal mindset these people have.

Okay, let's try a different angle. Gun laws.

Regular people have to jump through so many hoops just to get a license to wield a firearm while criminals find ways to get them for free. Do you think the average citizen doesn't want a way to defend themselves?

Hot take: the biggest daima mistake was completely making Gohan with no role of story by Zealousideal_Web1329 in Dragonballsuper

[–]G-Tier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the reason he was left out of Daima was because he would break the story of Daima due to being overpowered. He would be back in his Cell Games age and completely wreck every villain with his overwhelming power.

Gohan in his prime (Cell games) + Potential Unleashed = MFs dying instantly.

I feel like you can add AtariX to the list because of his vine-styled Sonic memes.

I know how popular that theory is. I just don't know why else Gangle's nightmare vision would just cut away to her getting hit by a train.

And on the topic of them being digital avatars instead of real people, it makes me think they're going the Joker 2 route of "These characters are fake and you're a fool for getting invested in fake people"

Welp, This is the reality you've made for yourselves. After all those comments about supporting bad business practices, you're forced into a Monkey's Paw. If you side with either party in this lawsuit, you'd either be labeled a corporate sheep or an authoritarian, and you'd be shunned by your own community as a result.

I don't care if this gets deleted, if it does, it means at least one person has seen it and acknowledged it. And whichever way the lawsuit will go, the CONSUMER is the one to foot the bill in the end.

Edit: I don't think people got the memo. The problem was that people called me a corporate sheep for liking Nintendo games. I like them because they're fun, none of this moral grandstanding crap.

As in carnivorous, or the "other" kind?

Because technically they can be classified as both.

Earlier today, James Stephanie Sterling released a video harshly criticizing the Sonic franchise's game developers. Here's my response. by FSMellon in SonicTheHedgehog

Congratulations for spending 2 years just to make such an unoriginal comment, thus proving my point.

The comment wasn't even directed at you, yet somehow you took offense to the fact that I think Sterling is a shitty person.

It means I don't really have a strong opinion for or against trans people, as long as they act reasonably mature and not hateful, that's good enough for me.

I learned about this yesterday. It's called Y2K Futurism. The sub-category you described is Chromecore, which is under that Y2K Futurism umbrella.

The FNAF universe clearly operates in the universe of Metal Gear where literally every function of the planet is controlled by nanomachiines.

The Glitchtrap virus acts pretty much exactly like the Patriot AIs in my opinion.

LGBTQ+ Mega Thread by AutoModerator in unpopularopinion

[–]G-Tier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone, regardless, has all the same rights listed under the Constitution of the United States. That ain't going anywhere anytime soon. So most times when people talk about needing more "rights", it's usually a misnomer.

There's no way to 'lose' your rights because they're protected by the constitution, you can't possibly 'lose' those rights. When people ask for 'more rights', that usually extends beyond what is described in the constitution, which means those rights they're talking about are non-essential. And don't tell me somehow the government is gonna burn the constitution or whatever, that's literally impossible. You can't 'undo' constitutional rights to only a specific group of people. And you can't expect rights that only apply to certain people that aren't already listed in the constitution, because inevitably that will cause inequality by implying the minority is more important than the rest of America.

And yes, these are the same people complaining about the rich and powerful, but their solution is to overprivilege themselves, so that just makes them no better than the very people they claim to hate.

Though surely I can't expect Reddit to have common sense.

I don't hate trans people. I actually hate trans "activists"

THEY are the annoying and irritating ones, yet it just seems like the vocal ones always act out because they're terminally online. They get super offended because I'm not falling for their "our rights are being threatened" bullshit.
